If you think the CEO should be rated on his record, I rate his record very low and imo he should be sacked.
I ask this question, should the CEO stay in post, regardless of his record? My answer is - he should be sacked.

I had hoped Ocado would be announcing the CEO's departure today.

If you are losing hundreds of millions a year, and you have limited money in the bank, what does the future look like?
A buyout is their only hope or else its share price dilution. But the latter just delays the inevitable.
At what point will this be profitable?

The board don't care about the shareholders, they find them an irritant, the board only cares about the company continuing to exist.
They sell shareholders down the river when push comes to shove. They don't care if there's 1bn shares at 300p each, or dilute to 5bn shares at 100p each, which end up at 60p each.
As long as they get enough cash in to keep the juggernaut rolling, that's all they care about.

A leader who repeatedly messes up should go. Why allow a leader who has a number of missteps to his tenure, seen a falling share price stay in control of Ocado? Shareholders who turn a blind eye to the problems are doormats for management - mess up and you should expect the sack.

Got to be the cheapest AI Play around! 👀

The value of foreign bids for UK companies is headed for the highest six-month tally since 2021 as cheap valuations fuel appetite for London-listed firms.

If Ocado Board keep the CEO in post then what does it say in general? The CEO must be held culpable for the missteps and be replaced. If not, why replaced MD at Ocado Retail when M&S were reported unhappy with trading?

The CEO, imo, is too damaged and needs to be replaced.

Profits and healthy balance sheets is the name of the game since interest rates moved back to pre-GFC levels.
Yep, they'll drop a percent or so over next year, but mid 3's is where they will, and should, settle.
Interest free money was a crazy long term concept for way too long post GFC.
Bloated asset values and zombie companies are now finding it's time to face the music.

The clock is ticking down on the Board to replace the CEO- time to move the business towards profitability as opposed to empire building.
