18/4/2006 10:08 | Results May 4th: RNS Number:7185A Numis Corporation PLC 31 March 2006 EMBARGOED FOR RELEASE 7:00 am Friday 31 March 2006 Numis Corporation Plc ("Numis") PRE-CLOSE PERIOD UPDATE Numis Corporation Plc ("Numis"), the independent investment banking and stockbroking group serving high quality companies and institutions, today issued a trading update ahead of the close period relating to the half year ending 31 March 2006. Expected Results for the Half Year Ended 31 March 2006 Following a sustained period of activity amongst its institutional and corporate clients, Numis now expects revenues and profits before tax for the half year to 31 March 2006 to be significantly ahead of its first half revenues and profits before tax for the same period last year. ----------------- Looks like they may be ahead for the whole year too and there has been a huge number of AIM floats over the past 6 moths. 13/4/2006 10:51 | "Presumably you and just about everybody else looking to invest in near term Copper production, afterall there are going to be quite a few funds looking to reinvest the proceeds in Copper shares, ie fully cashed up to do so. Logically ACU is one of the most likely contenders. Yikyak, Apparently John Meyer of NUMIS did not do too bad a job yesterday at Sachs Forum, approximately 33%/40% of people did not bother turning up. Obviously they have been bored to death before. The moral of the story is the mining investor circuit is a very small place and you can not afford to not make your clients money. Whilst nothing succeeds like success, the reverse is true if you do not, and personally I feel ACU amongst other stocks is making NUMIS look silly. Afterall who is going to use a broker than can not promote a Copper stock up in a mining boom where the copper price has gone up 210% since the IPO in November 2004? Arrogance is all very well, but results are more important in the long run, and if you consistantly fail to deliver, the market will in the end, both client and investor/trader vote with their feet". | yikyak

05/4/2006 08:15 | Up 23.5p this morning. May be due to sector consolidation. We have to wait and see. Good luck to all holders. | ved
02/4/2006 15:03 | They also have a very significant amount of cash, as at the last results £54M from memory. | stevemarkus
02/4/2006 12:58 | How cheap is NUM? These did 12.3p eps in H2. I reckon from the Friday's statement statement the 22p eps forecast for this year could get smashed. CR | cockneyrebel

23/2/2006 11:48 | Interesting drop in price - is it coming down to a level to buy - or is there a good reason for the fall? | huttonr
28/1/2006 21:40 | where have all the bears gone?triple top?I doubt if numis have ever been so busy and in my opinion the market cap still looks too low for such a niche small/mid cap broker/adviser | northern dancer
24/1/2006 10:30 | bought at 300p on the 17th - looking nice now :~0 | gardenboy
20/1/2006 13:03 | yiyyak, competition on fees?what world do you live in?it may have escaped you but virtually every corporate finance house in the city has been snowed under with work for the last 2years .This not a background in which fees are cut,but quite the opposite.I reckon michael spencer probably knows more than you about business in the city,I would suggest you start following another stock as you appear to be somewhat clouded by your fairly obvious short.Im tempted to buy these if you are a bear in company. | northern dancer

14/1/2006 21:49 | Chart breakout with good volumes. | rafieh
13/1/2006 12:56 | do I detect a few people gone short on this stock. I would like to point out also that their job is to get a good return for the companies they are working for and all you have posted above shows they have done a good job. Companies looking to raise more capital will also think that and I expect this to continue upwards in due course. | user
05/1/2006 18:34 | Triple top at 290p looks on cards, I think quality of NUMS IPOs and lack of aftermarket shareprice performance about to catch up with NUMIS. AIM is going to suffer horribly as these IPOs fall out of bed, as market realises once broking fee paid to them they could not give a stuff. After ACU, GOS, AAZ I would never touch a NUMIS Stock. Competition on fees is going to erode NUMS Profits rapidly and the increase in costs, cancellation of Broker and NOMAD Mandates going to flatten the stock. Too much too soon, no follow through, arrogance, too many clients, far too little aftermarket left investing in UK and AIM to swallow £1billion worth of AIM NUMIS IPOs in 2005 Yikyak I agree NUMIS must have really fleeced the institutional muppets to raise so much on so many also ran stocks, where on earth they can get rid of it to on the March to May Collapse Gawd only knows, I won't be buying. NUMIS is IMO a sitting duck short as the ending diagonal flat top closes. Personally expecting 148p by end of May 2006 ie 61.80% FR of 60p to 290p approx. Cheers Ash:) | mr ashley james |
