Morning everyone.

Sunny, blue skies but very cold. Portfolio red again.

carp well done with DLG.

Skinny, I couldn't access the Times quiz, I'm not a subscriber.

Had a good walk yesterday to the Nature Reserve. Wind not as strong as predicted but very cold. Had our sandwiches shivering :-)

That’s a great gesture from the terriers. Watford very much second best to Burnley. Still a better season than I predicted so far.

Yes a good point for the Hammers. West Ham fans never seem happy with their manager, are other clubs the same?
I feel Julen Lopetegui needs the whole season, we signed 9 players over the summer and have moved away from the defensive football that Moyes used to play. Lots of changes!
I think mid table this year is the best we can hope for. But with the likes of Southampton, Wolves and Ipswich all struggling, I don't think the Hammers need to fear relegation.

I gather we played ok but gave the game to the Magpies by conceding 3 in 5 minutes of mad defending. Merry Christmas, blueliner!

Super performance from QPR in the 2-1 win against Preston. Lost our captain with an injury in the first half when he pulled up with what looks like a bad foot problem. The Preston striker then ran past him while he was on the floor beating our keeper with a low shot. One of only two Preston shots all afternoon.

We played a 4-1-4-1 with three teenagers, Morrison, Morgan and Koli excelling. Koli equalised just after half time with a low shot from close range and Jimmy Dunne got the winner with a diving header in the 89th. Thoroughly deserved. Up to 14th after being bottom less than a month ago, unbeaten in seven.

Back home for a couple of bowls of homemade broccoli and parsnip soup :-)

Well done to The Magpies in the 'NFDS derby' today , for kiwi's 'Terriers' last night and a point for G's 'Hammers' this afternoon.

wllm, thanks for updating.

My wife is exhibiting at a craft show today. I've been left with a short housework list before having chicken and chips for my lunch then setting off for the match.

A light intermitent mizzle but warmer. Trains running ok.

Tawny owls were hooting away after midnight :-)

A dreadful week, down -1.91% and holding onto positive territory by a fraction, YTD +0.02%. I was meant to be playing tennis tomorrow, but, winds are forecast to be around 50mph so play looks unlikely.

Have a nice weekend gents and hold onto your hats,

Skinny - ref your FT article link - By far the best parts of the FT are often in the comments section following each article. Some insightfull views in this one and well worth a read.

Anyway, no matter how bad UK Labour are they'll certainly beat the mix of Labour, Greens amd Maori who ruled and ruined NZ recently.

Point is they should never have made that particular promise re: working people. Sunak pushed Starmer in the debates but he should have just said it depends on what the books like and they could not commit to it in their manifesto. The £22Bn black hole could also have been raised over 2-3 years instead of one. You do wonder what these so called intelligent highly paid advisers actually do...

It's a lean month for dividends, will try and squeeze as many that come through as possible into December's figures.

Rough weekend expected, take precautions.

justice - I hope those economists are correct. Agree with you on the manifesto hand-tying.
They should simply have ignored their manifesto promise as they did with the Farmers, The WASPI's and the Pensioners.

labour didn't 'win easily'. The Tories simply lost and many votes went to Reform thus splitting the centre/right.

Have a pleasant weekend everyone - and let's hope for better news soon.
