Good Morning.

DF - yesterday evening, the forecast was for a dry day today - this morning - it has changed!

I'm up +0.155% on the day today (FTSE100 +0.076%).

Best rises: SSE +2.09%, NG. +1.92% and BA. +1.59%.

Worst falls: TATE -2.15%, IMI -1.88% and RIO -1.26%.

Utilities were bright. Miners a bit sick.

I had a Zoom meeting at 5pm, so am a bit delayed. We have had rain on and off all day, as the showers moved along the south coastal strip.

Dry tomorrow?

Seems that I have several companies that continue to rise or fall for several days in a row. Creo/Kitw continue to rise, VLX/SUP/MRL continue to fall. Overall +.15%

MrP , you put me to shame . I did 35 years non stop before calling it a day and selling up.

Got a blue portfolio today - just ;-) +0.18% , thanks to ROR, GRG, MKS and NG.

Overcast and cold for most of the day but the sun came out late on as I went out for a walk 10C. Rubbed down a couple of outdoor windowsills ready for some undercoat.

Beef bourguignon tonight and a bottle of merlot.

INCH results looked good but the moderated growth outlook was taken badly and they fell 8%+ despite an already very modest forward P/E still likely to be around 7 or so if they tweak it down. (UK innit?) The loss there was matched by decent gains at FRES (results ok, PMs up) and PLUS to drag me back break even overall.

A very grey day with a little drizzle but the sun came out recently. 10.6C after 5.5C. Grass too wet to cut.at th eback and front has grown quickly. I did well to get the front cut the other week. Never seen it as long an scruffy around the other gardens in the neighbourhood.

Should be game on tonight. Hope I don't wish it had been rained off by the end! We need a win or play-off hopes will probably be over, though it is very tight in the middle.

MrP - the attitude of many youngsters towards work is absolutely appalling.

I finished up 0.32%.

+£10.64 folio.

JSG prelims were inline, good results imo, higher volumes revenue up but market took it's usual jaundiced view that we have come to know. Became my worst faller.

PLUS, BA., leading gainers.

Max 12C, the day developed into nice sunny periods, a whiff of early spring.

Make sure you leave time to have a rest , MrP! Maybe you can cut it down to 4 days a week for the next couple of decades. :-)

Brasil Composite PMI rose from 53.2 to 55.1 so that looks like another country starting to boom after interest rate cuts. (Says he still bemoaning ALAI winding up.)

wllm, I'm just coming up for 48 years full time non-stop working! Of course I was a mere whipper snapper when I started! 😁

Skinny, too true. One of my staff decided to have the day off last week as their car had a flat battery. As if that wasn't bad enough, they wanted me to pay them!

These are strange times MrP, I was discussing with a friend the attitude of the young towards work just the other day, a young lady in her 20's started in the team I worked for before my retirement, she said she felt she had done her bit and wanted to reduce her hours, she had worked full-time for 3 years!!!
I worked full time for 40 consecutive years, how times have changed.

wllm :)

We are recruiting and were forced to use agencies as we are just struggling to find anyone. We got five possible candidates in for interview for an internal office role, and only one was English so I don't know where all this stuff about not getting people from Europe is coming from! We have offered the role to a Spanish guy and face a bill of around £5K from the agency.

And for a (what I consider to be a well paid) outside customer facing role, we are really struggling to get any suitable applicants. We have one "potential" but the first reference is hardly glowing. A few years ago, I would have bitten our hands off to get that role!

Morning All.

Cold wet and miserable here, portfolio just into positive territory on the day but basically flat.

Just checked my FIT payments for last year and they came in at £1,671.55 so they are edging up nicely each year. Won't be much for this month though!

-0.4%.

Calm, frosty, foggy, sunny, grey, rainy and windy. Wasn't it supposed to stay dry so I could cut the back lawn tomorrow? Anyway, given how (comparatively) warm it felt at lunchtime, it almost felt like we've had all 4 seasons today. 10.2C after -1.4C.

I'm down -0.536% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.49%).

Worst falls: KGF -2.77%, S32 -2.57% and WDS -2.44%.

Best rises: PSON +2.07%, BT.A +1.43% and BA. +0.80%.

Market will be wary in the run up to the budget. Nice rise from Pearson. Aussie shares down.
