I expected interims that were 'broadly in line' and that's what I take these to be - well done Newmark in a still tough market!

What a great result, the 6 month eps alone at 0.17 supports the current share price with a PE of 9 so we have the second half of the year thrown in for free.

I reckon Tiger Woods may put in an order for that security glass for his fleet of cars. I've seen photo's of the damage his wife did with the golf club to his car and face and think that he will want to take security precautions in future!

don't expect this will influence the results much, CC, but it adds to the generally positive mood and newsflow here - with the notable & sad exception of Alex Reid's passing. however, from the AGM mood music and comments, I would expect quite solid yet unspectacular interims, just ahead of last year's numbers. what this announcement does, however, is underline the new MD's role at Safetell and send out a massive signal to the commercial markets as to the merits and innovationary edge of the comprehensive range of physical security products they have available. In an uncertain world, these products have many applications across varied sectors and geographic markets.

Press Release

3 December 2009

Newmark Security plc

("Newmark Security" or "the Group")

Safetell successfully tests its new Bullet Resistant glazing

Newmark Security plc (AIM:NWT), a leading provider of electronic and physical security systems, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary Safetell, has achieved the required safety standards for its leading Bullet Resistant glazing. This approval follows an exhaustive period of testing by both Safetell and Wiltshire Ballistic Services over a period of 18 months.

Safetell, as the UK's leading provider of fixed and reactive security screens, reception counters, cash management systems and associated security equipment, has redesigned its glazing system and utilises the latest developments in glass and polycarbonate laminates so that the glazing system is lighter and cheaper to produce yet still meets all regulatory approvals namely resistance to ballistic forces commonly found in guns such as a .44 magnum and 12 bore solid slug.

Maurice Dwek, Chairman of Newmark Security plc, said: "I am delighted with the continued efforts and success of Safetell's research team and to achieve the necessary safety standards for Bullet Resistant glazing is a mark of the company's unique skills and leadership in this field. We look forward to announcing further new products and certifications over the coming months that will position Safetell for continued commercial success."

NWM up 33% yesterday on pretty good volume:

meaning NWTs stake bought for 450.000 CAD is now worth 750.000 CAD.

Not a bad deal they made there, although these are of course just peanuts compared to their URU stake...

Some more details on NWM:

NWT owns about 4,3 % of the company. The way it looks, they are on the brink of becoming a producer:

1.7 Summary of Pre-Feasibility Study

A pre-feasibility study regarding a three-phase production scenario for the combined Mineral Resources for Lluvia de Oro and the Northeast Zone at La Jojoba indicates that commercial production of gold-silver-copper Mineral Resources determined for both projects will be economically viable and technically feasible at a gold price in excess of US$550 per ounce.
The elements of the pre-feasibility study results are summarized in Table 1.9 and 1.10.

Now i dont have to tell you, that the current gold price is significantly higher than 550 USD/ounce :-))

1.Vietnam

The Company is concentrating on the Vietnamese resource sector and has held several meetings with officials from the provincial committees as well as state departments responsible for the mining industry.
Additionally, during September 2009, NWT was invited to join in several meetings held by a delegation of Vietnamese officials, led by the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam. These meetings resulted in further discussions about NWT’s interest in Vietnam. To date, no properties have been acquired, though several properties are targeted for potential acquisition, and further assessments are planned.

The Company intends, by leveraging current relationships, articularly with Chroma International which allows for the facilitation of obtaining rights to uranium and gold exploration properties in Vietnam, to raise its portfolio of prospective properties, beginning in Asia. The Company is urrently considering a number of promising properties located in Vietnam, and is hopeful that it will locate and obtain exploration rights to a number of prospective properties in the near future.
During this quarter, NWT has made progress in Vietnam. After studying numerous properties, NWT has successfully managed to narrow down its selection to a few properties the Company deems valuable.
While finalizing specific properties NWT would like to acquire licenses for, NWT continues to negotiate with high level government officials as well as government mining ministry officials on NWT’s involvement in Vietnam to build value in the country, that goes beyond exploration and the future extraction of just a few properties. The management team has met with Vietnamese officials as well as a delegation lead by the chairman of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Commission and continues its discussion of NWT’s future involvement.

2.Pichachos

The Company, after negotiating several extensions to its option agreement with Seafield Resources, allowed the option to lapse during this quarter as it felt that spending upwards of $2 million on exploration activities through 2009 was not justified in the current economic climate.
The Company did not complete sufficient exploration expenditures on the property to maintain the option agreement. As a result, the Company has written off the mineral property and deferred exploration costs during the period ended September 30, 2009. There were no other conditions to terminate the agreement.

3.Azimut

On the 5th November 2009, Azimut reported positive results following a summer 2009 exploration program on its North Rae and Daniel Lake properties in the Ungava Bay region of Nunavik,
Quebec. Channel sampling on six (6) of the twelve (12) known uranium-mineralized outcrop zones includes the following results:

0.11% U3O8 (2.55 lbs/t) over 20.0 m (Jonas Zone)
0.16% U3O8 (3.52 lbs/t) over 8.0 m (Jonas Zone)
0.22% U3O8 (4.77 lbs/t) over 8.5 m (Aqpiq Zone)
0.16% U3O8 (3.62 lbs/t) over 6.0 m (Aqpiq Zone)

Channel sample results indicate reasonable grade continuity and the presence of lateral extensions for several of the mineralized zones investigated during this program. Channel lengths were often limited by outcrop dimensions, so many mineralized intervals reported in this press release remain open. The true widths of the sampled sections are generally difficult to assess due to the shallow dips of the pegmatite, but, where observed, there are at least metric to multi-metric measurements.

4.NWM

NWM Mining Corporation
On 29th September, 2009, NWT participated in a private placement financing for NWM Mining Corp (“NWM”). The transaction involved subscribing to 7,500,000 common share units for total proceeds of $450,000; price per unit was $0.06, with each unit consisting of one common share and common share warrant. NWM is commissioning a SART (Sulphidation Acidification Recycling Thickening) plant and ADR circuit at the past producing Lluvia de Oro gold mine. NWM has assembled by option, purchase agreement and staking, a ground package totaling 5,074.52 hectares in the area around and to the west of the mine. This claim area covers 2 known gold ore bodies that are separated by 3.5 km.

NWM has combined two mineral properties; the past producing Lluvia de Oro gold mine and La Jojoba gold resource, and has secured exploration rights to the surrounding ground with a view to developing a district level gold project.
Subsequent to this transaction, NWT sold its drill at Ungava Bay for $300,000 to NWM.

Lluvia-Jojoba Project

The Lluvia-Jojoba project consists of 2 gold ore bodies with total combined claim area of 5,075 Ha. The property has been a past producing gold mine & has a refurbished plant onsite. Copper recovery plant (SART circuit) will provide economic credit for copper, materially improve project economics and reduce the environmental footprint of operations.

Lluvia de Oro Gold Mine

After several years of pursuing mining claims at the Lluvia de Oro gold mine, and after securing operating access to and purchase rights for those claims, NWM Mining Corporation ("NWM") is now
starting commercial production at the mine. This will establish NWM as a gold and copper producer and will provide a cash flow for developing the Company’s projects in Mexico.

La Jojoba Gold Resource

The La Jojoba property is comprised of 4 claims totaling 528.9 hectares. At a cutoff grade of .3 (g/t) an NI 43-101 measured and indicated resource on the northeast zone contains some 218,808 oz. of gold.
The La Jojoba property is located 3.5 km west of the Lluvia de Oro mine. NWM has staked the ground around and between La Jojoba and Lluvia de Oro, and has mineral rights in the area totaling some 5,075 hectares.

Sierra Pinta Gold Mine

The Sierra Pinta gold mine was developed on two shafts (Dolores shaft / La Pinta shaft). The shafts were sunk along narrow, high-grade, gold bearing veins. The property titled by NWM includes the past producing underground gold mines and surrounding areas. NWM has a combined total ground holding of some 2,715 hectares. This property is located approximately 25 km from La Herradura gold mine which is Mexico’s largest producing gold mine and is a joint venture between Industriales Penoles and Newmont Mining Corp (NYSE: NEM). The ‘Penmont joint venture’ has been responsible for the discovery of two new ore bodies in recent years, dipolos and soledad, and these deposits are also now being progressed toward production.

PII Colorado Exploration Project

In 2005, following the recommendations set forth by S. Sears (43-101 Report, October, 2004), NWM embarked on an exploration program consisting of detailed geological mapping, soil and rock
geochemistry, ground geophysics and the initiation of a 3,000 metre diamond drill program.

It looks like NWT is starting to become invested in Gold.
Strange though that this was not publicly mentioned but ( like so many times before) hidden in the MD&A.
And i think its very strange as well, that they are not mentioning why they refused the SD.

Regards

Wantedman

Hello everybody,

i think i may have some bad news for you.

First the quick maths for robson:

NWT owns 39.768.339 URU shares x 22.0828 equates to 8.781.962 KAH shares.

Multiplies with 184,5 pence you reach 16,2 Mio GBP or 28,64 Mio CAD or 0,21 CAD/share (again Cash and other assets not included)

But it seems the tax rate in Canada for dividends is 33 % !!! (This is what i could find out after a call with a Canadian and some research on the web.Not sure if this the last of it,as the whole matter is rather complicated.SO PLEASE CORRECT ME THERE IF I AM WRONG !)
That leads to the question whether this special dividend would make sense for NWT?
Any dividend tax would have to be paid in cash, meaning 9,45 Mio CAD for NWT.

As according to my numbers they only have about 5 Mio Cash-i am not sure they will vote in favor of this special dividend under these circumstances?

I think its far better to hold 33,8 % of URU (and thus some 9 Mio KAH shares indirectly) with a 30% discount instead of paying 33 % dividend tax...

I would appreciate some thoughts on this matter from someone who knows more about Canadian dividend tax.

Regards Wantedman

sorry wantedman too lazy to do the maths myself could you recalculate the NWt value now we know it will be 22 shares per 100 not 20.66

my basic maths suggests 7% improvement in terms so we get to NWT being almost 30c ?

It looks like there were only two orders for today, one at 60,000 and one at 5,000. I don't have level 2 to see the bid and ask. I am wondering what the bid and ask is for NWT. Anyone out there have this info? Thanks in advance.

KALAHARI MINERALS PLC - Assessment of Strategic Partnership Options

Nov 17, 2009 (PR Newswire Europe via COMTEX) -- KMPLF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- e>Kalahari Minerals plc / Ticker: KAH / Index: AIM / Sector: Mining & Exploration 17 November 2009 Kalahari Minerals plc (`Kalahari') Extract Assesses Strategic Partnership Options to Progress Development of Rossing South Kalahari Minerals plc, the AIM listed resource company with uranium, gold and base metal interests in Namibia, is pleased to provide an update regarding the evaluation of strategic partnerships by Extract Resources Ltd (`Extract' or `the Company'), in which Kalahari's subsidiary, Kalahari Uranium Limited, holds a 40.43% interest, in order to progress development of the Company's Rossing South Project. Kalahari's Chairman, Mark Hohnen, said, "This news underlines Extract's drive to bring the world-class Rossing South Project into production which we remain fully supportive of. Our aim has always been to work together with Extract to achieve Rossing South's potential as one of the world's largest uranium mines, capable of producing 15Mlbs of U3O8 per annum. However, as the controlling shareholder in Extract with an interest that exceeds 40%, we intend to assess any proposal to ensure it is beneficial to all stake holders." Extract announcement: Extract Resources assessing strategic partnership opportunities to progress the development of Rossing South Extract Resources Limited (ASX, TSX, NSX: EXT) commenced a comprehensive review of strategic options in May 2009 for the development of Rossing South, part of the company's world class Husab Uranium Project in Namibia. The strategic review being carried out by corporate advisers Rothschild, in conjunction with the company, has already identified a number of potential development pathways for Rossing South. At this stage no decision has been made on the preferred development option for the project. As part of the continuing process, Extract has now invited interested parties to submit proposals for their potential partnership in the development of Rossing South, including outlining the basis of their interest and how they can assist with bringing the project into production in the most timely and efficient manner. Proposals will be carefully evaluated and compared against all other available options, including the development of the project solely by Extract, through its 100 per cent-owned subsidiary, Swakop Uranium. Due to the size and quality of the Rossing South deposit, Extract has received extensive interest from a number of parties seeking to participate in the project's development. Extract will keep shareholders informed of any material developments. In the meantime, Extract is continuing to progress the Rossing South Feasibility Study (due for completion by mid-2010), as well as delineating the significant new zones of mineralisation that continue to be discovered. Extract believes that the strong level of interest already received from potential partners supports the company's view that Rossing South has the potential to become one of the world's leading uranium mines, capable of producing 15 Mlbs of U3O8 per year, delivering significant returns to shareholders and material benefits to Namibia. * * ENDS * * For further information please visit www.kalahari-minerals.com or contact: Mark Hohnen Kalahari Minerals Plc Tel: +61 (0) 8 9389 4488 Simon Raggett Strand Hanson Limited Tel: +44 (0) 20 7409 3494 Stuart Faulkner Strand Hanson Limited Tel: +44 (0) 20 7409 3494 Rory Murphy Strand Hanson Limited Tel: +44 (0) 20 7409 3494 Richard Chase Ambrian Partners Ltd Tel: +44 (0) 20 7634 4700 Rory Scott Mirabaud Securities LLP Tel: +44 (0) 20 7878 3360 Hugo de Salis St Brides Media & Finance Ltd Tel: +44 (0) 20 7236 1177 Susie Callear St Brides Media & Finance Ltd Tel: +44 (0) 20 7236 1177 Notes to Editors: Kalahari Minerals Plc is an AIM and NSX listed resource company with uranium, gold and base metal interests in western and eastern central Namibia. Its key investment is its circa 40% holding in ASX, TSX and NSX listed Extract Resources Limited (www.extractresources.com), which is developing the Husab Uranium Project, strategically located directly south of Rio Tinto's producing Rossing Mine. Work is focussing on three main prospects within the project area, Rossing South, Ida Dome and Hildenhof, and results continue to underpin the prospectivity of the region, particularly following the world class Rossing South discovery. Extract has reported a JORC compliant combined Husab Resource (Global Resources) in excess of 292 M lbs U3O8 of which 267 M lbs U3O8 at a grade of 487 ppm from the two zones at Rossing South. Importantly these are both open ended at depth and along strike. Kalahari believes Extract has the ground and potential to deliver on Kalahari's estimates of a resource in the region of 500 M lbs U3O8. Kalahari's copper interests are focussed on two project areas, Dordabis and Witvlei, where an exploration programme is underway to define +250,000 tonnes of copper metal. A third project, Ubib, is believed to be prospective for gold mineralisation, whilst a forth project, the Namib Lead Zinc Project, centred on the old Namib Lead Mine, contains surface tails and underground mining reserves of 1.65 million tonnes at 5.7% zinc, 1.6% lead and 40.2 g/t silver (non JORC compliant). Kalahari aims to take this final project to bankable feasibility study stage with a view to recommencing mining operations in the short term. END
