What abour Rescuer too - is he still about?
I rarely contribute, but read plenty as part of research - been holding a LONG time! I was always interested in Hatto's & Rescuer's comments on here but never went over to Ashtead thread to follow the main commentaries.

spights - good to see your note on here. I remain impressed by what Newmark has achieved in a frankly hideous period. when things pick up a bit, as they will over some time to be fair, these products and channels could really motor. is Hatto still about, do you know? steve

I've bought in this morning - not likely to set the world alight with the amount though - my strategy is a small number of shares being bought gradually over months topping up small amounts as I go - a big £200 worth to start with today.

I've been watching this for over 18 months and liked the results comments and the maiden divi with hopefully more to follow. My buy is listed as a sell on some websites tradelists but 15515 bought at 1.27p.

can't help thinking that the stunning 'quietness' here (and on many other boards) in the face of solid results, from this one, sums up just how battered and p*ssed off PIs are with this market and financial scene generally. hey ho, huummm. bottom drawering this one for now. steve

even in/after the toughest of years, they make a fair profit, generate cash, instate a dividend and send a positive signal re FY2010. what more can we expect at this point in the cycle? love it - I don't need to buy, mine are all bought and paid for and safely tucked away. that div will be ssssoooooo nice! well done Newmark! steve

Final results for the year ended 30 April 2009


HIGHLIGHTS


* Turnover from continuing operations was GBP13.0m compared to GBP14.9m in the
previous year (a fall of 13%), with falls in the electronic and asset protection
divisions of 12 and 14% respectively



* Gross margin remained the same at 44.4% overall.



* Profit from operations for continuing businesses was GBP1.477m compared to
GBP1.917m.



* Earnings per share for continuing businesses were 0.25p (2008:0.30p).



Earnings per share before interest discount, profits/losses of discontinued
operations, provision for exchange losses and abortive acquisition
costs were 0.26p (2008:0.33p).


* Total net assets increased by 14%, from GBP7.624m to GBP8.715m.



* Cash flow from operating activities increased by 23% from GBP1.815m to
GBP2.234m.



* As foreshadowed in last year's Chairman's statement, the Board is pleased to be
proposing a modest maiden dividend of 0.025p per share. Subject to profits
meeting projections, the aim would be to pursue a progressive dividend policy.



* Despite the likelihood of a continuing weak economy, current forecasts suggest
that operating profits for the current year should exceed last year. The asset
protection division will benefit from a major branch refurbishment programme for
an existing client valued at approximately GBP0.9million which starts in August
and will continue until March.

Results due mid july,lets hope some encouragement coming through albeit we know that profits will not be much over £1.4m.News about delayed contracts now happening would be good.

another 'top up' opportunity looks on the cards, at this rate. these MMs are just so fragile in the face of a few sells.
