Netcall (NET, 12.5p, £15.28m) Interim trading update to December from the customer contact software provider confirms trading remains in-line with expectations. The group has achieved £1.4m of savings from the integration of its Telephonetics business to date. The group has seen net cash increase from £2.45m to £4.8m, post a placing of £4.25m to fund the Telephonetics acquisition and the resulting £5.7m cash outflow from the part consideration paid in cash of 5p – in other words the group is till generating cash underlying. Forecasts are for EPS flat at 1.5p for the next 2 years, placing the shares on PER's for Yr 1 & 2 of 8.3x. We believe there will be further benefits to be wrung from the Telephonetics deal and that the consumer interaction software will continue to find favour as companies continue to reduce costs. We maintain our Buy recommendation with an 18p price target. BUY (Julian Tolley

Good positive TS and as you say LBO a very modest PER, with strengthened cash reserves.

The problem with this company is this:

What demand is there for Netcall's products, when companies can charge you for every minute that you hold on to them if you call on premium 0845 and 0870 numbers. I.e. they will lose money if they use Netcall's product. Bar a small minority of companies that can afford to sacrifice this money for customer services, who would want to use Netcall's products.

In short, the whole business model is flawed.

Getting fed up with this one - my scarce resources can be used better elsewhere methinks - I will give it a month.

Just grabbed another 10K C12p - given that it's only a month since the positive TS, I'm happy to add at these meagre levels.

Clock, I'm not familiar with Mike Neville, but I am familiar with you.

Why any confusion - the fact that Mike Neville is on the board should answer most of your questions. Do you know his history?

I'm confused as to why the sp's dipped so sharply - perhaps we have a big sell order being filled?

I've been watching dribs and drabs of sells for several days now, but have been pleased to see the share price resilient - had assumed someone hoovering up, but today's dip would suggest not. I'm puzzled as to why people are exiting as the future looks bright now that we're growing organically and through acquisition - could see a dramatic dip in PER pretty soon.
