On LSE site Berenburg cut NCC to Hold from Buy with TP of 240 down from 260Seems a bit of an over reaction in SP

Today, advfn flags NCC news but fails to link it to anything. Meanwhile the share price shows a substantial fall. What's going on?

It has just clawed its way back to where it stood six weeks ago. Progress is slow and it looks in danger of becoming range bound. The last "higher low" was barely convincing and the chance of further progress becomes less the longer it is delayed without a positive event to restart it.

Next scheduled event ie results won't be until 2 Feb so to get to 250p b4 Xmas you be hoping for some very encouraging announcement in next weeks - but at current price hard to see any downside - only if Nasdaq would go south of 10k & that does not look likely after recent surge

I'm not normally fixated on chart formations but this is a particularly pronounced one. A series of higher highs and higher lows with a notably wide and tradeable span of ~40p between them. If predictions were valid, the suggestion is of a high of ~250p as a Christmas present.

The recent trading statement was supportive -
"The Group continues to generate double digit constant currency revenue growth in its Global Assurance division, and this growth is accelerating as the year progresses. The Group is also a net beneficiary of the strong dollar given the scale of its activities in the USA."

Given that there appears to be some revival of interest in the battered mid-range UK stocks sector, the target at least looks possible.

NCC is tipped in the current issue of Moneyweek, highlighting the growth potential and also suggesting the company could be split in two.

Obviously this surge is not just "great results" related even if merited! perhaps positive broker reports or bid rumours altho I have heard nothing on the latter. Lets hope it can push on from here even on its own steam - it's been a long war with NCC!

Yes, pretty sure the GBG situation is having an added influence here on the share price - hoping they can kick on now to 300p plus & justify my & many other investors faith in them ?
