fine i am interested in posts/ opinions from experienced investors and the decison is finally mine. As this is the PE sector i dont find sources that are reliable except kepler notes or hardman sometimes- my question was addressed to posters here- there is no reasons why a discussion board can't be a source of useful information and my experience on the whole has been positive

ali - we can provide you with facts; but you still have to determine what represents value and what doesn't......it's your own personal estimation.

That is why I posted 409 above when NBPE moved into an over-valued state - in my estimation.

Gross Yield to Maturity. i.e a calculation of the annualised percentage return taking into account capital gain/loss and any interest coupon (though there isn't one here)

118p for NBPS would be good but the quote I got today was around 119.5 which drops the GRY to around 5.3% depending on number and dealing cost.

I've invested in various zeros for over 20 years. Even when well covered by the equity shares they often tend to quietly languish, and the yield creeps up as they get closer towards the redemption date. It makes sense for anyone to buy them, whether a buy back or open market.

ali - post no.409 was to show comparative movements in the sector.

Often you get valuation discrepancies which can trigger anomaly trades. If you don't understand that aspect of investment, no bother, but others may well do.

Up in dollars is good. But pound now stronger so pound value potentially below figure reported.
