15/11/2012 08:44 | Disappointing but entirely predictable reaction by the market on a down day in general. Looks like we haven't seen off the 700 level for a while yet - except to the downside that is. | lord gnome

31/10/2012 14:04 | https://www1.nationa Right hand side text makes you wonder how often they have been updating their website "$614m planned investment in our electricity network in 10/11" ...maybe they mean 2110/11 | m100

30/10/2012 10:45 | Time for NG to get out, last time this happened it affected profits in the US. Too much risk. Explosions at powerstations, feel for those there. | lennonsalive
30/10/2012 10:36 | One substation in NY exploded (on Sky news). AGK supply temporary power so I've been looking at them again yesterday. I agree NG should get out of the US as the track record for UK companies over there is not great. | bountyhunter
30/10/2012 10:17 | I thought the power cuts were voluntarily made to protect the network as best they could? But superstorm or not, the states isn't the place for UK companies to do business imv. I wish NG would sell up and get out. But in the meantime, lets hope the damage and deaths in the states are minimised and they quickly get back to normal. | pierre oreilly
30/10/2012 10:03 | Short are you, Kibes? | beardmore
30/10/2012 08:37 | New York flooded and 6 million without electricity. Transformers exploding in Manhattan. But NG shareholders comfortably asleep waiting for their dividend! | kibes
29/10/2012 09:21 | The network will be damaged, of course, but the real (and unjustified) damage will be to NG's reputation as Democrat politicians pile in and criticise the time taken to repair the network and, as with BP, enjoy kicking a Company that is not just in foreign ownership but British to boot! | beardmore
29/10/2012 08:38 | Anyone know how National Grid could be financially affected if their distribution network is severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy? Are they insured for that kind of risk, or can they charge repair costs to their customers? This is the largest storm to hit New York for a very long time. I assume electricity cables are mainly underground but away from the city there could be pylons damaged perhaps? | kibes
27/10/2012 10:08 | It's going to be interesting in the next couple of months; With the US elections on the 6th Nov (which could determine a new US energy policy) NG Interim Results due on 15th Nov. Anticipating a declared divi of 14.48/share to be paid in Jan '13, although do not be surprised if Steve Holliday down plays the results especially as OFGEM will be watching carefully before the final RIIO is published. Dec 17th Final RIIO published. | utyinv
23/10/2012 12:42 | Yes and I did - these are now by value, my single biggest SIPP holding. I have traded them probably about 3 times since the RI and have been tempted more than once as they have reached new highs this year. | skinny |
