20/3/2007 20:00 | Hi Hatto. I didn't realise you had an interest in NBR. I have held these since Dec: 2004 and obviously bought at the wrong time as I am still down on my investment, however, I have held on in the hope they would recover and bring me a profit! Still waiting! LOL - Sunshine | sunshine57
20/3/2007 12:39 | Cheers Hatto. The sooner we get some info the better. I nearly sold my shares in this a couple of months ago to buy more shares in PET. Wish I had now instead of waiting for, what we all hope will be, some good news. | blues100
20/3/2007 11:34 | Good morning everyone. Just phoned Tony Carlton (CEO) to enquire/complain about the NBR share price & was told that he is currently in Namibia & will be back in his office on Thursday. I will phone then. The lady I spoke to was aware of the share price & was at a loss to explain the recent fall......she mentioned the positives we are all aware of. Will update when I know more. | hatto
15/3/2007 13:38 | Me as well. I must admit, though, that my patience has never been tested so much on the back of all the "false dawns" with this stock. | blues100
14/3/2007 18:26 | Still here too - waiting patiently! | sunshine57
14/3/2007 17:14 | Good to see that I am not alone! I too hope for a bullish RNS and any other positive newsflow that may be forthcoming. | ncp3
14/3/2007 12:14 | just a matter of biding our time, the net assett value at flotation was higher than the current share price and the company is well advanced of that time now. if there is any panic selling as the flotation price is tested may be a good time to pick up some more | bluesbeater
14/3/2007 09:20 | Yes I am still here, waiting for Tony to return to the UK with some good news. Then for him to release a bullish RNS about the total amount of diamonds found in the last finacial year and maybe extra areas for us to mine, we can do but hope. | maxmol
13/3/2007 20:32 | This board has gone very quite! Anyone out there? | ncp3
11/3/2007 18:04 | THIS IS THE KIND OF NEWSFLOW THAT WE WOULD ALL LIKE TO SEE AT 'NBR'(and yes I know it wasn't discovered in Namibia!) Gem Diamonds Limited (Gem Diamonds), which joined the Main Board of the London Stock Exchange last month (LSE: GEMD) and its partner the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho (Lesotho Government), the owners and operators of the Letseng Diamond Mine in Lesotho, are pleased to announce the sale of a 215 carat white D colour diamond in Antwerp on 28 February 2007 for US$8.3 million (US$38,418 per carat).. The diamond was recovered at the Letseng mine on 26 January 2007 and was sold in a tender including two other exceptional white D colour flawless stones of 66 and 54 carats which sold for US$1.2 million and US$1.4 million respectively. The result for the whole of this recent tender where a total of 7 092 carats were sold was US$18.4 million. At an average price per carat of US$2,598 this is the highest average price per tender for the Letseng mine to date. The 215 white diamond was bought by Omega Diamonds. | ncp3
07/3/2007 19:49 | 8 Feb'07 - 14:07 - 2143 of 2149 I agree with maxmol's comments, so lets hope that there is some news sooner rather than later as I would prefer not to be waiting another 7 weeks for the March update (as good as I expect that to be) when there could be the remotest possibility that the 15p March 2004 float price is being actually being tested! At this rate my forecast above could become true, although I hope that I'm proved wrong! Tony is off to Namibia later this month so lets all hope that there is some much needed and well overdue NEWS in the coming weeks!!!!!!!!!! | ncp3
02/3/2007 20:09 | FYI - The last paragraph is perhaps worth noting! Xceldiam (XLD) says will become investment co after proposed sale of assets to Petra LONDON (AFX) - Xceldiam Ltd said it will become an investing company following the disposal of Frannor Investments and Finance Ltd to Petra Diamonds Ltd, a proposal which is subject to shareholder approval at its EGM on March 19. It also said it will have to make an investment or a reverse takeover within a year from the date of the EGM, failing which it has to return all funds to its shareholders by way of a dividend. The company said it would be left with cash reserves of 1.25 mln usd and that this sum, minus expected operating costs over the next 12 months of 600,000 usd, would be invested either in shares in diamond companies, or other companies which hold exploration or mining licences in the sub-Saharan region of Africa. 28/2/2007 00:01 | Should be early March, also will be a good increase in the number/size of diamonds. | maxmol
27/2/2007 20:14 | Year End tomorrow........and still NO newsflow! | ncp3
22/2/2007 18:22 | Looks doubtful that we'll being hearing any news this side of the financial Year End, next Wednesday, which would have been nice! | ncp3
15/2/2007 13:46 | I'm not sure what this means for NBR, but overall positive. It means the Gvmt are taking things seriously, which improves the overall investment climate in Namibia, and it adds value to existing agreements, as barriers to new entries have been erected. (I have posted the same over on Kalahari Minerals thread - Uranium explorer) | vermilion1966
15/2/2007 09:27 | From "The Namibian" GOVT CALLS HALT TO URANIUM LICENCES TONDERAI KATSWARA For Namibian AS applications pour into Namibia from companies intending to prospect for uranium, the Ministry of Mines and Energy has stopped accepting such requests. It will soon announce a moratorium in the Government Gazette. The Namibian has it on good authority that the Ministry stopped accepting applications for uranium prospecting and exploration two months ago. This comes hot on the heels of a similar moratorium slapped on the granting of diamond cutting and polishing lic ences by the same Ministry early this month, after the renewal of a five-year sales agreement between Government and De Beers on January 30. In the last two years, Namibia has become a global attraction because of its mineral deposits hugely in demand on international markets, like uranium and diamonds. In an interview with The Namibian yesterday, the Permanent Secretary of Mines and Energy, Joseph Iita, confirmed that no applications were currently being accepted, adding that more would soon be revealed in the Government Gazette. "It's a matter of regulating the issue of licences. Everyone is running to Namibia for uranium and we don't want every Jack and Jill mining uranium ...," he said. Iita also said uranium was a special mineral, adding that the Government was reconsidering its policies on the resource. He said there was an upsurge in the global demand for uranium, hence the need to regulate uranium activities. Said Iita: "The world is now highly advanced and has come up with all sorts of uses for uranium. In the end uranium is not only used for the generation of electricity, but can be used for destructive purposes as well." Local and international companies alike have of late been rushing in with applications for uranium prospecting and mining in Namibia. To date, more than 20 mining outfits are doing uranium prospecting and exploration, mainly in the Erongo Region. These companies are of an international mix with various owners from Namibia, China, Australia and Ghana, among a host of others. However, there are currently only two active uranium mines - Roessing Uranium and Langer Heinrich Uranium. With the possibility of a looming power crunch in southern Africa, nuclear power is being touted as an alternative power source. Last month the Ministry of Mines and Energy announced that Government was considering a nuclear power plant to escape the impending energy crisis and was looking for international partners to achieve this. Namibia imports about 50 per cent of its electricity needs, mainly from South Africa. | vermilion1966
08/2/2007 14:07 | I agree with maxmol's comments, so lets hope that there is some news sooner rather than later as I would prefer not to be waiting another 7 weeks for the March update (as good as I expect that to be) when there could be the remotest possibility that the 15p March 2004 float price is being actually being tested! Long and strong, people! | ncp3
08/2/2007 11:27 | At the moment the mm`s are holding lots of shares and are trying to induce buying, but the drop in share price is having the opposite effect and they are getting even more. Don`t give up with this share, the next update will be in March and this years total will be the largest yet, with even a larger average size of diamond. Maybe even an update on the " Two situations are currently under serious consideration ". I still believe this share will come good at some stage. | maxmol
07/2/2007 21:43 | you are right..no news no updates no point!!! | scarlet149
07/2/2007 19:07 | I think folks are just too weary to comment on this disappointing share price any longer.... | sunshine57 |
