Any sensible shorts would have all covered before today's rise. I know I had ages ago. When the market cap went below 15M the risk return didn't favour the short side. Having said that I hope it runs up some more so I can reopen.

When I bought into this 2+ years ago it was off the back of a research note suggesting that as soon as users hit 20m there would be likely M&A most probably from a Korean interest. Make of that what you will but I am optimistic. As for the shorts...if you really believe management can shift the share price by 100% in one day then you cannot short this stock without the risk of wipeout which means you cannot short.

Further to speculation from a recent internet article noted today, MySQUAR, the Myanmar-language social media, entertainment and payments platform whose principal activity is to design, develop and commercialise Myanmar-focused internet-based mobile applications, announces that it has received an approach from another organisation which may or may not lead to a takeover offer.
Whilst appreciating any interest shown by potential investors or acquirers, the Company is not actively seeking a purchaser and believes that the continued growth and monetisation of its products will make it an even more attractive prospect over time.
There can be no certainty that an offer will be made for the Company or as to the terms on which any offer might be made.
It should be noted that as a British Virgin Islands incorporate company, the UK Takeover Code does not apply to MySQUAR however, further announcements will be made in due course as appropriate.

Pretty close in my guess, they were a bit quicker off the mark than I thought they would be.

Looks like the usual pump and dump crew may be gathering to make a few quid out of mug punters that cannot see through this obvious scam.

Not sure this is the pre placement ramp, as I was expecting that nearer Eastertime. It is possible they have burned through / pocketed all the cash from the last fraudulent placing, but I think this is just a bit of a warm up act to keep the believers believing while they work up the real fraud for the next placing.

At least one mystery bidder is circling MySQUAR, the Burmese social media company.

According to Asian banking sources familiar with the situation, MySQUAR recently received a approach from a company interested in acquiring some or all of the business.

However, it's not clear which company is behind the recent approach or what price the offer values Aim-listed MySQUAR.

Industry bankers speculated companies from mainland China - such as Alibaba, Tencent, Didi Chuxing, JD.com and WeChat - could be interested in MySQUAR as they are looking at more acquisitions in South East Asia following intensifying competition in their home markets.

MySQUAR floated on London's Aim market in 2015 to cash in on Myanmar's economic revival after its release from half a century of military rule and censorship.

However, the company has had a tough time since then as the business has been targeted by short sellers. As a result, MySQUAR's shares have fallen to as low as 1.27p in 2017.

My guess is MYSQ will put out an announcement about the speculation probably tomorrow confirming they had an early stage approach, but that the offer substantially undervalued whatever was to be bought. They may even give a price. Talks may be continuing to get a better price and later cease when a big enough price cannot be reached or they may already have ceased.

You can rinse and repeat this sort of scam pretty regularly, all you need are a few contacts out East to generate a few e-mails to show to the Nomad and away you go.
