Canada Faces Devastating Third Wave
Justin Trudeau is under fire as Covid-19 cases per capita in Canada overtake the US for the first time amid a devastating third wave driven by new variants that are leaving younger people severely ill.
Cases in the country, which won plaudits for its early response to the pandemic, recently hit 207.3 per million people, according to data from Johns Hopkins University, exceeding the 206.7 per million in the United States, whose response was widely criticised before vaccinations were ramped up. On Monday, Canada recorded a record 10,859 new cases.
Infectious disease experts blame the resurgence on “pandemic fatigue”, the premature easing of restrictions and more transmissible and dangerous variants, including the UK variant.
“Things are, unfortunately, extremely challenging,” Dr Eddy Fan of Toronto’s University Health Network told The Times. “Patients coming to the hospital, and certainly in the intensive care unit, now are younger. Many of them have been previously quite healthy.”
He said that during the first two waves, older patients would be admitted and linger on wards for seven to ten days, before deteriorating and being put on ventilators. Now, patients are getting sicker faster and heading to intensive care within 48 hours.
“In my ICU we’ve seen some 20-year-olds, and certainly 30, 40, 50-year-olds. It’s a shift in the demographic downwards towards younger patients.” In Ontario, surgeries have been cancelled and patients are being shuttled between hospitals to manage demand.

No news and no follow threw to break 100 DMA so I expect we may pull back a bit before the next leg and run at 100 DMA. I hope I’m wrong but lack of news flow don’t help. Surely with all sales of Covid the company could put a decent RNS out letting the market know the second half has been better. Also I note a few more new tests starting to sell like £54 ones. Time to drip feed news and for the board to top up also!

I subscribed for emails through their website after ordering covid tests and received the code for a £10 discount on my first online order of a health test. The email linked me to the choice of tests. It was easy to browse them and I ordered one that was of specific interest to me at roughly a 20% discount. I thought the pitch was appealing and feel sure sales will grow as they expand their reach.

Lots of bad news circulating all over the markets as companies worry about debts and they have a devastating effect on many.
Fortunately MHC don’t have such issues so maybe given all recent covid revenue pouring in since July Penny can give us an update to cheer about. The company shares have risen Recently and one would expect an announcement if the company are serious about share holder’s value.

I did say I wanted it the get passed 13.5p however it hasn’t quite passed it today. Tomorrow will be interesting to see if we get follow threw and pass the 100 DMA or fall back.
What a great time for MHC to release a positive update and push it up to another level and catch any bears off guard. I’m sure they have many reasons for reporting positive news ATM

The share price has held up well this considering many companies have pulled back.
Time to get some good news and see the turnaround.
The thing is this market has many twists and turns.

It’s been quite on here. Time for MHC to make a play for the 100 DMA around 13.5p or it runs the risk of falling back. Let’s hope some positive news or update lands as it would be a shame to see recent gains lost.
Covid tests still selling rapidly and tests in Boots sight selling better by daily figures but not enough to get over exited about. Interesting to see whether the uptrend continues as six month chart suggests it’s make or break time soon

Note BELL planned purchase of TMTA via a share exchange, looks like a cash shell. Shows that there are corporate deals in this sector for cash-rich cos.
MHC is of course more than just a shell.

I did say recently it was only a matter of time before vaccines would be available privately.
MHC is well placed to deliver this and it’s easy to see a company would want to buy them out

It’s clear MHC is being treated in the same way as a Covid vaccine company however MHC is a completely different company.
MHC has been able to use Covid revenue to expand its wellness portfolio and thus increase long term revenue.
The time has come and will come when the market realises the growth and potential in MHC. However I do believe the board could and can do more to emphasise the value and I do recall them passing a resolution that allowed a buy back of 10%. Since then we haven’t heard a thing about this. They could also buy shares them selves or give an update as regards recent Covid surge which will clearly impact Revenue and profits on a positive basis.
The markets never information to fuel the engine

Has any one else checked local stores to see the availability of Covid test at the moment!.

Looking at previous results, it looks like it was boots and lloyds only.

This one from a results statement....

I’ve been to trying to ascertain whether we had contractual rights to supply flowflex on Amazon but no one knows the answer 100% and my request at the investor meeting wasn’t answered so I concluded we don’t on Amazon but do on Boots and Lloyds I believe.

hxxps://www.boots.com/flowflex-antigen-rapid-test-lateral-flow-self-testing-kit-25-pack-10315414

Any way 25 packs out of stock again on Boots. This keeps happening and whilst demand is high we should be fully stocked because £49 pack is a lot of revenue when averaging of 30 sales a day.
MHC need to sort the distribution networks out because it will have a reflection on full year earnings so hopefully this is temporary

Thanks billy3, just looking at previous statements and they certainly distribute the Flowflex into Boots as far as I can gather.

Does anyone know....Are all the Flowflex tests sold by boots supplied by MHC? On the boxes it states Acon labs but it's likely that MHC are the supplier as they are the same tests on the MHC website and have the boots relationship. What's the relationship between ACON and MHC?
