29/9/2022 07:50 | Risk back on so perhaps a good buying opportunity this morning. Looks like BoE no longer independent. QE tightening policy lasted less than a week before major u-turn. Reduced to firefighters, fitting with former FCA man as governor. Who knows what long term damage this will cause (Truss and Kwarteng have burnt their boats) but good stocks that have been under the cosh should get a welcome boost imo. | ![]() columbarius
28/9/2022 12:03 | Glad you’re continuing to post. I have a lot of shares in MERC too. I thought they had defensive qualities lol. Positive effect of BoE intervention on sterling didn’t last long. Speculators know Crazy Kwarteng and surgical Truss still in post and it’s open season. Interesting blood sport watching the market take down the black and white minstrel show. | ![]() columbarius
28/9/2022 11:32 | Markets have suddenly turned. 8-) | ![]() hazl
28/9/2022 10:32 | I will add that I think your alternative share Mercia seems to be undervalued too. Unfortunate but sometimes funds do suffer especially if they're private companies involved. Generally. | ![]() hazl
28/9/2022 08:33 | I will just add that MHC has a great balance shee t now. Look at the turnover and into profit for the first time....with cash. So it definetely comes down to whether they can continue their sales with the new tests. Wait and see mode. ' -- Revenue up circa threefold to GBP9.8m (H1 2021: GBP3.3m) * Post-period end: Record breaking July revenues of GBP6.8m (unaudited) -- Adjusted EBITDA improved to GBP0.37m (H1 2021: loss of GBP0.20m) -- Improvement in Gross Profit to GBP1.5m (H1 2021: GBP1.1m) -- Net cash generated from operating activities of GBP0.96m (H1 2021: GBP1.29m utilised) -- Cash balance at period end of GBP7.0m (H1 2021: GBP2.2m) * Whilst continuing to invest across the business for future growth -- Strong cash generation and balances ensure next growth phases are self-funded | ![]() hazl
27/9/2022 22:48 | Look columbarius I don't like bad feeling and I suspect neither do you. Look at it from my point of view. The boards are full of people who set out to deceive....some are shorters, some have many aliases, some are talking the share up and down according to their current trade. If you are genuine then surely you can see the charts on many shares have a drop that reflects the mood of the economic turmoil everywhere. I do agree that ours seemed unfair early on but don't believe it would suddenly be cured by a drop in salary for the top job, or necessarily by more shares being bought but agreed it might help. I think it might be best if I don't post on these boards. We are clearly in for a rough time . I am just trying to support the few shares I have left. I am trying not to encourage to buy, sell or advise generally . People's circumstances and outlooks and commitments are all different. It seems to me the last time you were positive was in January. Do write to Penny and wish you luck. | ![]() hazl

27/9/2022 15:05 | "I think some of your points are relevant." Wow hazl. That means so much coming from you. I realize such a patronising comment will have had a long journey down from the assumed moral high ground. | ![]() columbarius
27/9/2022 15:04 | Great post Control1. I had years of misery before I knew for certain I had a milk allergy. Also, we seem to crave the very things that cause us grief. | ![]() hazl
27/9/2022 14:04 | The answer to most of your questions is that people don't think for themselves anymore. They look to others for solutions, it's the same in the workplace, they just say I haven't been trained on that and look at you blankly rather than doing a bit of research and trying to find the solution on their own. This is the best way to learn, with of course training and development support...Specifical | ![]() control1
27/9/2022 08:52 | I think some of your points are relevant. I had thought myself about the competition that must be prevalent on Amazon. Would you look on there for a test? But I have had renewed confidence since reading the future of healthcare, the markets and individual personalised medicine. We know that they are running the NHS down. We know that they are privatising it by stealth. People will have to look after themselves more. I think it is an absolute tragedy but you cannot resist change and that is the way it is going. Unfortunately more like the American system where you can be bankrupted by a couple of interventions. We are going that way. Management are progressive thinkers and America is a huge market....so perhaps Amazon isn't so daft after all. In the medium term though I am pleased that other outlets are being considered like Tesco for example. | ![]() hazl
27/9/2022 08:38 | I would have thought that your points might be good to address to the company itself. Have you written them an email or submitted questions to the Investormeet opportunity? If no then perhaps you seek to lower confidence on the billboard here? Will be interested in your response. | ![]() hazl
26/9/2022 11:13 | Hazl Well deserved rise!. The spread has gone up to 11% that’s all. If we get buyers then hopefully it narrows again on the upside. Once again it’s clear people are becoming aware that Penny is taking huge pay rises whilst others are not getting there performance bonuses!. Sorry but taking money out bye way of huge bonus when your in a growth faze is totally irresponsible. She stated last year in the investor meeting her focus was on new products and she weren’t interested in going down the road of LFT route etc. Lucky for MHC she realised that was a crazy strategy and changed course. She clearly felt Covid revenue would dry up but has been surprised by the continuing revenue from Covid related products. She needs to demonstrate the new products are selling and worth the money invested. If they were good she would have raved about it recently.’sorr Revenue in this market what would happen!. Penny give us something to chew on and complete the boots and Lloyd agreement or at least buy some shares and don’t keep blaming market conditions. Other shares are rising in a down market without our sort of cash position. | ![]() tia01
26/9/2022 10:50 | I think the fact that she has worked at well known companies...so indeed how do you put a value on that? Many small companies lack the marketing experience, in my view, but clearly she contributed in many more ways in her last company, bringing such a noteable contract to market with Bayer. That has more value I would suggest that a relatively new CEO. | ![]() hazl
26/9/2022 09:49 | I was surprised by the stated size of the CEO pay rise but it is in black and white. In the 2021 annual report she took 426k out of the company. That seems excessive for a microcap with no proven business model ex-covid. I would have preferred a pay rise based on results from transient covid testing to be addressed with a bonus which is easily reversed if things don’t go so well. Furthermore, we don’t know how how much her pay has risen this year and we won’t find out until next summer. I’m sure she’s working hard and if the new tests fly off the shelves she’ll be worth every penny. I think she should have shown restraint until she has proved the market wants the health tests though. The fertility test was an unviable duck egg and if these new tests are also duds there isn’t a business here without covid and the remuneration committee will have some explaining to do. The pressure is on Penny. Big salary and small shareholding. I hope she’s not just milking it. | ![]() mr macgregor
26/9/2022 09:05 | The best rises are those for absolutely no reason. That's what I'm waiting for. 6p previously touched on almost nothing in comparison to what we have now | ![]() spacedust
26/9/2022 08:48 | A well deserved rise.....but nowhere near what it deserves in my opinion. | ![]() hazl

26/9/2022 08:01 | Tia Sbtx is perfect example of issuing a sales forecast and getting it wrong with a new product and what it does to the share price. To accurately predict what the sales might be on brand new products at a time when the consumer is reigning in would be extremely difficult. So we must agree to disagree on that point. | ![]() atlantic57 |
