Understandable. I am waiting for 4 digit price here before selling any significant amounts. Looks like a few larger delayed trades showing now,

Well done getting more at that price today,I am fully invested greg, so although they are less than a quarter of what I expect them to be in a few months time, I am currently unable to add, unless I were to liquidate others, and as I like to keep a wide portfolio, so I will not be doing that, as bar some blue chip, the other stocks I hold also stand to grow exponentially imo in the next few months also - like PTD and and few others in other sectors.

Very small volumes having a big impact on the share price over the past weeks. This is once again very undervalued imo.

So many jobs available at Mulberry suggests to me that they must be busy.

The share price seems to have settled around here now, so the next run up will be as it heads for the next trading statement.

Quality Mulberry branded goods look and are good however "a but rich" to many but they are sought after and in demand around the world, regardless of the p/e rating, I expect the shares to soon be as sought after by canny investors also.

Some might also find holding around 500 shares (I think,it used to be 250 I believe, but correct me if I am wrong) very beneficial for the shareholders discounts available.

So if your spending a few thousand with them a year(the decent bags) you save circa £600.00 let us say 500 shares at £4.00 = £2,000.00 so save £600.00 in year one alone, plus the recovery story and chance of a big bonus if a bid comes for the brand.

A discount of 20% is available to private shareholders at the following stores on production of a valid shareholder discount card:"

How much is a premium brand worth kibes?

Just wondering whether this is a buy but looking back to the years when the price was 2000p it doesn't seem to have been making much profit when times were good. Around £7 million on a turnover of £170 million. That would suggest to me a fair market capitalisation of around £140 million on a p/e ratio of 20. But current market cap is £189 million. Looks a bit rich to me.

Certainly taking a bashing today and against the grain of increasing retail optimism world wide.

The sellers remain in charge, with little appetite for any quantity of stock at the moment but with a positive update like the one you expect greg, I expect there will be a crush to take up what little there is available that is floating.

Unless MA finds a buyer at a very good premium that is friendly to his interest, he will continue to hang onto the chunk he controls I expect.

Decent week. Up a few more p. Slow and steady. Burberry going very well as well. I feel there is huge value here just waiting to be unlocked it's just a case of sitting and waiting. All the signs are that the luxury sector is absolutely booming. Next MUL update likely to be incredibly bullish imo and light the 1000p plus fire.

Yep money is worth less all the time at the moment. These results in July will be very very interesting. I suspect they will point towards a very good future. All the signs are there that mulberry is firing on all cylinders. I suspect the price of their lines will see margins increasing

Absolutely greg, the demand just keeps rising as the increase in money keeps expanding and governments keep printing paper but on top of that you have the cypto currencies creating riches for some.

In economics a good example of a 'good of ostentation' would be a flight. The end result which everyone wants is to get from A to B. But some people will pay 10 times the price to do it in more comfort when the delivery is the same. That is called a good of ostentation. A luxury bag is clearly similar. You don't need to spend 1000 pounds to carry something around but people happily do. There becomes a point where however much more you spend even the quality cannot be lifted much higher ( diminishing returns) but the exclusivity is getting greater and greater purely because of the price. That in itself makes it more desirable. Yes it makes little sense to many but it's true.

It is all about Veblen Conspicuous Status (VCS) if your still around S. If you want to find out more about that look up the American economist Thorstein Veblen. :-)

Agree. Comments like that show a total miss understanding of the luxury sector. Pricing to a point is not relevant it's all about exclusivity, luxury, desirability. To a point people don't care what they are paying if it makes them stand out.

Nice and steady up Mulberry goes, thanks for the links greg.

S, you might be shocked what an investment old bags are, if in perfect condition are worth often a lot more than they paid for them, if they only use them a couple of times, which the majority do I guess and just to be seen with a new "LUXURY BRAND" bag.

Take a new motor bike out and you need insurance, servicing and more than a little place in a wardrobe to store it, and you wipe off value the moment it leaves the garage and in most cases does not grow in value like these bags have done.

Buying continuing. Nice and steady. 400p first stop then 500p shortly after. Until this hits 1000p though it's just far too cheap. 1000p to be clear is an absolute minimum.

And ps I think 50 year heritage is pretty old. Everything is relative. Really suggest you look at the share prices of the other luxury players though. I think you will find almost all are hitting all time highs. Like I say. Until I started looking I had no idea Louis Vuitton was Europe's largest company, then you get prada, Hermes etc etc all 100 billion plus.
