Applied1 the point was that I had not previously (well at least for some time) checked the short position of MTC, and if there had been a much higher percentage of short positions then on the arrival of good news the shorters would likely be rapidly closing their positions, forcing the share price up more quickly that it is likely with such a low percentage.

However, taking the other view there are very few that think that they can make money out of shorting the stock now. It is well known that hedge funds and city bankers often try destroying businesses by creating bad press and selling short to make life even more difficult for the companies, so that these funds etc make fortunes exploiting the weak and vulnerable.

I expect it is now more likely they are the ones now collecting desperate sellers stock or that of board holders stock on the cheap, as the have already seen the level that directors have been buying at and PI’s like On Target and myself have picked up stock at recently.

Seeing the recent sells, I took a look to see if the percentage of shorts, and bear in mind if they have to close upon good news how big an effect on the share price would that have.

However it is only 0.78% is listed on

So little volume being transacted in a company of this size just shows the state of the current markets imo, rather than anything to do with the company.

It is less than a month ago the new CEO purchased over half a million shares, so I do not expect a TS until the end of the month or early May this year cash2020.

Very few shares are being traded as buyers seem happy to take them on board at over 8.5p/9p range as PI's are few and far between at present, and missing out impo.

These shares are very cheap.

Well jimmyloser - that accounts for a fair bit of yesterdays volume, and today we are back to being sluggish much like the market in general from what I can make out.

Clocktower: yes, looks like we might finally be gaining some traction. I’ve got my fingers crossed we get back to where we were before the war sooner rather than later. We were around 21/22p back then. I’m hoping for that RNS trading update any day now.
