14/12/2004 18:44 | ah, a little interest. anyhow, i'm totally unsure about this company, and was even asking on the MOB thread today, and later the iii mor board, but without any luck so far. This service starts early 2005. anyhow this is the app that i'm interested in. and the company partly behind it. and a recent article, with what sounds like quite some potential. 'The service has been two years in the making due to the large number of organisations that needed to be involved and consulted. Lukeis added he has immediate plans to take the system to the rest of the world'. "Starting next year, we are going to take this to as many geographical areas as we can. It will be a boxed mobile ATM system that can work around the world." So does anyone have any idea of how Morse have structured fees for this service, ie: what will Morse get out of it. The numbers for balance inquiries according to MobileAtm does show some potential, but obviously not all are going to swithc to mobile, and i would suspect a lot will enquire when drawing cash out. Nevertheless the numbers are certainly impressive. '150 million balance enquiries are currently made each month via the LINK ATM network or through telephone and Internet banking facilities from over 102 million cards. Consumer research commissioned by mobileATM™ in 2003 indicates that a high percentage of these same consumers would use similar services via mobile technology for a number of reasons': And 1.5 enquiries per month per card is not over the top, so if a new service were to be made available (MobileAtm) then this figure may well rise. The interesting number to me is the number of cards in terms of potential, bearing in mind that other services will be rolled out (transfer of cash etc) and what the in-house research found. The crux is what will morse's bottom line be out of this, 1p, 2p ? per request, and what will the take up curve be like. Even if it reaches a peak of 50m per month (with more services running) that equates to 600m requests per year and even at a penny net would run to a profit of £6m. I have to admit that this is subjective and if anyone else would like to throw their hat in the ring please do so. Oh and there's the rest of the world. | games
14/12/2004 17:06 | Which means if they fall further you no longer hold them and if they rise you make "substantial profits" I've seen the same on all of your dog threads maut such as Duc and Glw, you claim you buy for a long term hold but if they crash you then claim you have sold out. Perhaps a little honesty would get you further. Gravy | day_dreamer
29/11/2004 14:15 | LiquidKid, intersting, the financials page says 131m shares and £134m market cap, It has already dropped today, so maybe continue to watch for now..... | finkie
25/11/2004 11:57 | Finkie, to be fickle if you look back a few posts you will note that morse added new shares so the current market cap at 105 is actually £153mn. On EV/opcashflows(pre excep) of about 18 times it still does still not look the cheapest which I think that is the premise that the IC used. | liquidkid
25/11/2004 10:47 | it was stated as £38 million on the 30th september as per the early nov trading update | maut too
24/11/2004 15:58 | I got the net cash figure from the annual report. This was a reduction from £75 million the previous year due to £12 million spent on aqcuisitions and £3.4 million on restructuring costs. | buoycat
23/11/2004 21:06 | buoycat, where is that net cash figure from? Think it might test 92p again but will be a good one for £1.30-50 soonish imho.......! At 90 something pence divi is circa 4% with good lump net cash propping it up.......this time next year we'll be millionaires! | finkie
23/11/2004 20:49 | net cash at end of June £62 million I've recently bought Morse again after selling out at around £6 in the tech boom. IT spending can't stay in the doldrums for ever and things seem to be turning around for Morse. The share price should also be supported by the decent dividend. | buoycat
23/11/2004 17:51 | m'ket cap £139m....investors chron said sell in March when value was £209m and with £70m cash in bank, anyone know now what current net cash position is......starting to look interesting....maybe | finkie

27/8/2004 15:59 | Since the Diagonal acquisition Morse has fallen some 30% yet the deal only has a net cash cost of £16mn (£28mn payment - £12mn of diagonal cash balance) Through the purchase Morse has expanded its market in SAP consultancy but DIA will only be a small part, 11%, of its overall turnover of £440mn The weakness in the MOR share price could partly be attributed to the general apathy in the market for the takeover. Even Diagonal directors, although they approved the offer, were not so sure it would go though and only 75% of shareholders accepted the offer, now unconditional. Today there's 17.8 million New Morse Shares out giving the company a market value of £160mn and still carrying £46mn cash about. Suprising that it is sitting on its all time low. 11/8/2004 15:10 | Everyone is selling Diagonal instead of buying Morse and at 49p they would do better at these prices to accept the Morse offer anyway | mryesyes |
