Likely why there has been no takeover interest since 2012. There's no reason why the price shouldn't creep back up to around 260 in the medium term though. |

It claims the Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board is lining up a sale of its 30% stake in Compare the Market and values it at £1.25 billion, making the full valuation for CTM £4.2 billion. Given that the current market cap of MONY is only £1.14 billion I will be interested to see what the market makes of the news on Monday. If the CTM valuation is anywhere near realistic it suggests MONY is significantly undervalued. |
