A takeover would need to be at a premium which wouldn't make it that attractive in relation to future projected earnings growth. Likely why there has been no takeover interest since 2012. There's no reason why the price shouldn't creep back up to around 260 in the medium term though. |
Looks to be to me yield 6.29, Exdivi April 10th, multiple broker targets above price and expect more. Good AI targets, nearly crossing the EMA200 looks like a great buy to me. |
What is a T/o candidate? |
Unlike most of the Market, you're not missing anything.A T/o candidate in waiting.spud |

Nice little bit of DD purchase just in following closed period. |
Yes deffo a T/o candidate although I've been saying this for ages.spud |
Solid enough results - slight beat on EBITDA and slight miss on revenue and EPS, but pleased with the cash generation. Big yield and it is feeling like a take-over candidate. Given that the energy market is getting more complicated with solar, time of day tariffs and now extensive use of smart meters, it feels like there should be some improved offerings, but SSC results do look promising. |

Valid point especially with the announcement of the FCA investigation
Will undoubtedly have an impact but just how much is open to interpretation.
There is enough elsewhere to garner my attention but worth keeping an eye on here. |
Car insurance growth slowing rapidly, maybe negative soon.Meanwhile energy is still stuck in the doldrums. And no other category to be the growth engine. |
Is this just a case of sell on news or have I missed something?. |
squeezed on a reasonable update imo |
Yes that's my belief as well and as such I've been accumulating below 200p although not nearly enough in hindsight. Perhaps I'd better put matters to right next week. spud |
Interesting story from Sky News today. It claims the Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board is lining up a sale of its 30% stake in Compare the Market and values it at £1.25 billion, making the full valuation for CTM £4.2 billion. Given that the current market cap of MONY is only £1.14 billion I will be interested to see what the market makes of the news on Monday. If the CTM valuation is anywhere near realistic it suggests MONY is significantly undervalued. |
No, most likely it is to satisfy their obligations under the company's LTIP, just like it says in the RNS "The New Ordinary Shares will be issued from time to time pursuant to the Company's obligations under the Moneysupermarket.com Group PLC Long Term Incentive Plan and Moneysupermarket.com Group PLC Restricted Share Plan" |
More likely for future acquisitional purposes. spud |
Good question spud, any answers? Management options? |
