09/2/2020 23:50 | This was the most bullish announcement made by the Bod in recent times. It contained for the first time tangible announcements with regard to the potential Of an rns announcement . So we will have to wait and see what announcements are made. | atlantic57
09/2/2020 19:34 | A reminder from the RNS from December 11th 11 December 2019 MINOAN GROUP PLC ("Minoan", the "Company") Update and Issue of Shares and Warrants Update Minoan's Board has been actively exploring interest from a range of serious parties operating within inter alia, the UK, the Middle and Far East as well as Greece. The Board is now considering a number of different types of commercial transactions with a view to entering into more formal arrangements. Whilst there can be no guarantee, we expect to be able to confirm and move forward with the most appropriate transaction in the first quarter of the New Year. We will keep the market informed on progress. The interest outlined has arisen against a steadily improving background to the business climate in Greece and the efforts of the Government to promote development in the tourism sector with particular reference to strategic projects, of which the Company's project in Crete is one. In addition to the promotional effort, the Government has taken concrete steps to improve the financial returns for Investors by introducing a number of changes in the taxation system including the reduction of corporate taxes and VAT. All of these measures are helping to improve the marketability of Greek tourism investments, particularly those, including the Company's project, that are very close to being 'buildable'. Over the last four months the Government has passed a new Development Law which is intended to reduce bureaucracy substantially, has redefined the role of Enterprise Greece to make it more investor friendly as well as numerous other initiatives to enhance the Greek economy. At the same time, the Greek Banking sector has begun to loosen its lending criteria, Capital Controls have eased, and the Greek financial community has been expanded by the opening of Chinese banks. | yorgi
09/2/2020 19:32 | The investment environment for the industry could not be better. So now all we need is the news we are expecting that CE has secured the best deal he has been able to complete. | yorgi
09/2/2020 19:08 | Just had a look at Loyalward to see how long our leaders have been involved in this ‘amazing opportunity’ CE joined the Board in August 1995-yes almost 25 years ago.Do we think he will make the silver jubilee?Down to Z I guess. | pinkfoot2
09/2/2020 15:57 | Based on this Waterloo the case for an investment in Minoan is compelling. The market Is giving investors the opportunity to acquire shares in Minoan at a huge discount To the intrinsic value of the asset. However as we have seen the market will only rerate this share when they see some tangible evidence of progress via an rns announcement. | atlantic57
09/2/2020 10:10 | Mitsotakis: Crete will benefit most from government policy Posted on 08/02/2020 15:37 "Crete is becoming a priority today, we are implementing the big projects that our country needs" | waterloo01
08/2/2020 09:16 | I agree Will. The SP/market cap is disappointing to say the least but whatever way I look at it 2 things are strong in my mind £7m market cap is crazy. We should in my mind be valued several times higher. Secondly too many have got too much to lose to let this slip away so one way or the other I’m confident CE will deliver over the coming weeks. | yorgi
08/2/2020 09:11 | I'm hoping that the company will feed off the wider view yorgi and we will all benefit as a result of conditions improving. Its all about timing and it seems we are in the window of opportunity that offers a good chance of this becoming reality. However the market is being thrown off balance by the need for someone sell for reasons that are just personal to him/her. | wi1l
08/2/2020 08:26 | Plenty of good signs from the wider view now we just need some good news for us. | yorgi
08/2/2020 08:15 | Holiday Home Demand Boosts Greek Property Market Greece’s real estate market recorded solid growth in 2018 and 2019 seeing higher property asking prices and acquisitions, with property investment growing for the seventh consecutive quarter – a sign that the sector is recovering. Popular tourist areas attracting increasing demand include Corfu, Rhodes, Halkidiki, and Crete, and the more alternative destinations such as Messinia in the Peloponnese, Kos, and Symi in the Dodecanese, and Lefkada and Zakynthos, in the Ionian Sea. | wi1l
07/2/2020 11:00 | I really don't think paying back the £1m loan to Zachary (hillside) is a barrier or block, it's the only 'debt' and in the scheme of things, is a relatively small matter. Regardless the company have said they will be deciding between offers this quarter, and before it's due. As for the warrants, while irritating that they will get some of the upside, they will have to pay around £2.5m to exersize them, which would be money into the company. The warrants are only 'in the money' at 3p+ so they might well get taken out before they are worth a great deal more than that IMO | waterloo01
07/2/2020 10:03 | Hillside (Zachary) potentially own 18% of MIN via warrants. You'd think it was in their interest to renegotiate the loan promptly to negate the scenario you suggest. However Zachary may see themselves as a beneficiary of MIN's loan plight as April approaches and take advantage by advocating a d4e and a bigger slice of the cake. | fireplace22
07/2/2020 09:56 | Luckily I am new to this company. The delay in getting a deal must be incredibly frustrating for the long termers especially considering the quality of the asset. Surely the problem here is the early April deadline. Presumably the negotiators from the other side will know this and will string it out as long as possible. Clearly it depends on how competitive the process is in terms of the number of potential purchasers but this must be a real concern. To that end, is there any way the Hillside facility could be renegotiated? | nobbygnome
07/2/2020 09:40 | The top three tourist destinations for the German market are Crete and Rhodes, along with Mallorca, according to a survey of the booking platform check24. | waterloo01
06/2/2020 17:54 | More topical: 7 bln euros of investments to land on Crete: Energy, transport and infrastructure projects, worth seven billion euros, nearly four percent of the country's annual economic output, are on the agenda in projects set to lead the island into the next decade. | wi1l
06/2/2020 08:13 | And as for the goats!?! Even they come top...….. Greece Has the Largest Number of Goats Per Capita in Europe! | wi1l
06/2/2020 07:29 | Greece's holiday home market hot, yields beat Nice and Saint Tropez In a report, Algean said there was strong demand in areas of high tourist interest, either by the seaside or on mainland Greece, last year. Mykonos, Paros, and Santorini were once again top picks for foreign buyers, while next on the list came Corfu, Rhodes, Chalkidiki, and Crete | wi1l
05/2/2020 10:26 | Not all down to CE as this piece show how long others have waited. | scotty1
05/2/2020 10:23 | pinkfoot2, as you know I'm of a different view and am looking forward to the next RNS where they hopefully say they are in final stages of a deal. I would hope the value would be at least what has been spent to date circa £50m+ Current market cap £7.4m so some significant upside. As I understand things, everything is coming together nicely. | waterloo01 |
