Just had a email from Hugh ...re resource estimate basically the delay is due to consultants were late starting the work, due to overruns in their other commitments, and so they will be a little late in delivering the report to them. But he says expect by mid Oct.

Once again very quick & friendly response from Hugh & have to say very impressed with his communication always direcly from the man himself...excellent stuff shame other companies are not the same.

Good Luck GEX & its share holders :-)

Robbi

my issue with patience is that some contributers here dont bother to read or retain the quality info that a few decent people post here.

When the positive newsflow commences there will be plenty of "johnny come lately's".

BB - did you know we receive a fee from Goldfields as operator of the JV? not sure what the fee is but its something;)

p.s, patience is running thin but i know there clearly is potential here.

there were only two transactions on 25th September, biggest sale was 30k, strange. Probably not reported i presume. Down day today but it was only a matter of time, DAVY were holding the bid for a while now. Hopefully see some interims this wk?

Interesting to see the MFG holding - ironically, I've been watching them reduce and then buy-back in DRM recently. Their actions there seemed without logical foundation.

Have U leraned more about Salona Grasshopper?

My understanding is that those in GEX are more excited about the potential of Solona than they are about Komana - and they know more about Komana.

I think we should shift our gaze and attention to the man with the golden eye software - Kieran Harrington.

straight from the man himself: "When somebody publishes a resource figure, they think that is what it's going to be and that's what the size of the ore body or the size of the deposit is going to be and really all we're doing at this stage is giving, as I say, a snapshot of what it is now"

everyone should look forward to a VERY intensive drilling campaign this year and next. We're looking at 20,000m of drilling, compared to the 12,500 we did in the last campaign. That is where the excitement will lie, and that is how the resource estimate will be proved up and therefore grow in size. Although i would expect another resource estimate after next years drilling campaign. Lets also not forget the exciting Solona prospect and the Goldfield JV.

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Gold continued higher in early afternoon trade,
supported by ongoing weakness in the US dollar, which dipped further against the
euro this morning on expectations US data out this week will prove soft.
The currency has been hit hard in recent weeks by a cut in US interest rates
and a spate of weaker-than-expected economic data, which has raised fears of a
slowdown.
Gold, which is seen as an alternative investment to the dollar and typically
trends in an inverse relationship to it, has climbed on the back of this. Its
decline also makes the precious metal, which is traded in dollars, cheaper for
holders of other currencies.

Poorly _ I may have to rely on my good and most learned friend - the Right Honourable Smit Berry - Editor of the Small Company Sharewatch Newsletter for authoritative guidance on the share of the year for 2008.

Check out U coud do worse than give Ursef a decent and early Xmas present, in these trying times.

dave - resource estimate is behind schedule and is due in early/mid october unfortunately. I would expect more volume then, and possibly interims before the resource estimate. The current drilling season is IMO where the excitement should pick up and that is due to start around mid october too with two rigs working at full capacity.

Thought for the day:If the JORC is 1.8mill oz then that is just over 800 tons.
