Not nice.Conundrum between dumping and getting the hell out or hoping for a bounce. The volume attached to this fall is quite significant but no new short positions appear to have been opened up.Given the 15% retreat, one may as well wait for the clarity that results might bring next week. The next chart support level is 2150.I have to admit that I really don't fully understand how some of these tech companies make their money or how they chose to account. Thus,I shouldn't really hold them.Things are much more transparent in the world of pharmaceuticals.

Down 14% in about a week, my calculation about 9% return coming. Hedges one day will have to close shorts and buy 3.1m shares. Surely we go higher.

We're betting they do, and have been for a few years now.
Problem is people inevitably go that one step too far; let's hope it's not this one.

Must say I have always been a bit apprehensive about the long time lapse between the merger announcement and it's completion in September.

Lots of things can happen to the stock market in a year.

Looking at Financials I see that the HP share price has fallen approx one third in the last twelve months so no surprise they wanted to sell the software division.

As an aside to that there was the fiasco of the Autonomy take over by HP which turned into a disaster with accusations of rigged accounts etc.

Having seen 10% knocked off the Micro share price in a week one can only hope that the Micro board know what they are doing!

Be surprised if it didn't bounce quite strongly from here.

The FT article drawing attention to the Credit Suisse note was in last Friday's paper.Credit Suisse are by all accounts the broker who is disseminating a very negative message. The tech sector worldwide is suffering a sharp correction.

FT writes that Micro Focus faded 3.8% as "Credit Suisse repeated an underweight rating and argued again that the retirement of vintage technologies is accelerating".

Thats brutal 14% down in a few days, for no real reason. Bears in control.

Don't forget boys the two hedge funds who are short of 3.1m shares between then, have to buy back one day, surely they buy back before the £1.60p special dividend and the expected 45p normal dividend. Otherwise they have to pay back.I know they are relying on flowback, when the deal done.Let's hope a massive bear squeeze.

I'm hoping at this price a gift from the stock market gods, oversold for really no reason, roll on 12th July, see when our £1.60 a share is coming, lol

Nasdaq down, interest rate moves both sides of pond, GBP up, nearly 4 cents recently on Carney, summer, end of half-year.
What's to like?

Support around 2300/2270 or next is around 2130.

Only 240,000 shares traded, its all technical but the hedgies, flowback, arbritrage.
Under 2300p did not think I would see that, hopefully half decent figures, hopefully news of dates for special dividend around £1.60 should be normal divided 50p.
I'm topping up below 2300p.

Bears have Micro by the whatsits at the moment, until the 12th July.
