That too, monty.
Do we have a date for the "ex-payout" yet?
Could come as early as July.

SogoesitI would be amazed if the hedges who are short don't close before the special payout and before figures couple of weeks time. They could be caught out bigtime.

Of course forget they earn in dollars so paying the debt in dollars not problem.

I think they are thinking figures next month, figures may disappoint.Have they paid to much, can they turn it around. Revenue down 11% at HP. So I can see why they are short. Just have to wait and see. Personally I think the reason shareprice holding on a high p.e is the juicy dividend promised. But hedgies know when paid, chance of a bigger fall than is paid out.Interesting couple of months coming. Good luck Bulls and Bears.

Reported shorts increasing as the price rises.
Wonder who's going to suffer?

An amazing to think operating profit was $147 million just 20 months ago, so an increase of 800% in short order... Must be the fastest growing company in the UK..

Fantastic cash generation here. I agree with the previous post, operating profit of more than $1 billion looks likely. Rough pe of around 7. Margins looking great. Quite easily double from here...

P.e 42 on Advfn is that high for a ex growth stock, relying on cutting costs to increase profit?

Kainos Group is a software company with growth six consecutive years. Micro relying on cost cuts to improve margins, revenue was down 11%

Ex-Growth? Are you crazy, man?
This has never been a "growth" stock, ever. At least not since I've been in it... going on 12 years now.
I can understand now why you feel deceived. But, at least you've got a better price to sell-out at.

Agree, but you can only cut costs so far, when revenue falling what about the future? Have they gone ex growth.

You're right silverfern, they've expanded margins to 26%+ already.
The existing business is in the 40%+ area, if I recall, so they're inline with what they expect to do with the new business.

EDIT: Underlying EBITDA margin in existing business attained 46%+ at last half-year.

AM I reading this right- with margins increasing HPE could be making around $700-750m profit per annum? PRetty much what was declared at the time of acquisition. Micro would add $400-450m to that - so bottom line of around $1.2m per annum. Looks good value if so.

Your reckon, is that why revenue is falling?

COBAL has been around since the 1950s and stories of its death have been exaggerated ever since: there are so many programmes that use and rely on COBOL, and although one day it will be superceded, that day has yet to come. In the meantime, Micro Focus will earn well from keeping its programmes updated, and also be moving into other areas; plus it's a takeover target, always. The recent price drop, caused by ill informed analysis by someone not yet old enough to grow a proper beard, is a buying opportunity.

I thought the Credit Swiss note the other day was quite scathing.Shorting hedges seem to be coming in I don't know if there is a arbitrage deal to be done, now they seen the terms. Buy HP short Micro perhaps.Any thoughts I think 2150p on the cards.
