I've used the RNSs as my source. The two most recent ones for Causeway that I could find were the July 2020 and May 2018 ones. Happy to be proved wrong if you can identify others.

Clunes100, I believe you are correct, as of 10th July 2020 Causeway had a holding of 0.22% so have increased to 4.88%. Orange1 is producing previous holding information from 2018, possibly in error, possibly not.

What about M&G's recent 5.02% purchase and there is no obvious record that they held shares before the recent purchases.

Seems to be a lot of fake news around this share and I presume all in support of the shorters squeezing out the last profits and desperate sellers before turning long to make more money, before starting all over again.

Orange1 - I don't think you are correct here - Being a hedge fund Causeway have been in and out for quite some time and were registered as owning 0.22% of MCRO earlier this year.

As the FT alphaville team quoted........"Causeway Capital Management LLC, the LA hedge fund, has declared 4.88 per cent of Micro Focus. Causeway’s a global value hunter rather than an activist, having big positions in the likes of BASF, Takeda and Volkswagen, so the disclosure probably says very little about whether Micro Focus will be able to sell itself either piecemeal or as a whole."

Orange 1, am I missing something here, Causeway had 0.22% of Microfocus prior to this announcement and now hold 4.88%. It might be worth checking your figures and sources?

Trust pea brain to be impressed by pikeman's posts ...

Causeway have actually reduced their holding. They crossed the 5% threshold on the way down and this caused them to make an announcement. As they are a foreign investor they only have to make a first disclosure when they go above that threshold. The equivalent threshold for UK funds is 3%.

On 21 May 2018 Causeway disclosed a holding of 5.05%.

I notice a few ultra-morons liking my posts here. This appears to be a totally sh1t board with practically no one sensible here.

How come Causeway Capital have taken a near 5% stake in MCRO? Are they utterly stupid and keen to throw away £50m?

What interest are they paying on the 'refinancing' of the $1.4bn loan in May? Does anyone here know? Is it 12% or something equally absurd, that would signify a high risk company in imminent danger of going broke?

Price is at a 5-year low. 80% down on a year ago. So shareholders are looking at a wipeout. Some sort of disaster here. Correct?

Market cap is about one sixth of the net asset value, recently written down. So the net assets are actually worth nothing? Right?
