I agree, the problem is the uncertainty of further accounting errors. Metro Bank should issue a statement regarding this or ask to be audited again. Will reassure investors and those with deposits in the bank over £85,000 (though why would you have more than £85,000 in one account).

We will not see a bank run since safe deposit boxes are protected from creditors and cash is protected up to £85,000. If we were pre 2008, we would have the start of a bank run now for sure.

“The problem is the valuation”. Well yes.

But also it turns out that it was the PRA who noticed the accounting discrepancy, whereas the company stated that it found it out itself. This is why I believe there may be other issues which become apparent as further scrutiny is placed on this bank. Or at least the risk or perception of further difficulties which will hold the valuation in check for some time.

The bigger danger is depositors get spooked and start withdrawing, we will see. Only needs a London news papers to have an article on the trouble and bang.

Could see the Govt. banking regulators stepping in here, and putting a stop to this chaos to ensure all depositors are secure, this bank will be put into run-off, the US oddball that runs this show should go home and return to circus where he belongs!

The trouble is massive shorting going on, likely 300 million capital needed so share raise, been down in the up market this week so any bad days will see this fall further. Can't see single figures unless capital raise around £10.

I agree they need to turn branches into money drop and safe deposit box locations. No need to have 10 staff, just have 3 staff, 2 people working and 1 manager. Focus on online banking and the app, will thrive as a business.
