I think market is short of stock having sold above 13p, hence trying to cover their short, but no sellers ?

Agreed. I just can't make sense of the huge increase in market size for sells, the hugely tightened spread. Seems like someone is shaking the tree.

Volume has been paltry over last months, so I cant see another bidder, but..Everyone on hold until Panel reaches its decision I think.
Whatever the result, 13p way to low, and after having a holder for many years, the bid is taking the p..s !!

If Candy buying in market at 16.5p, then he would have to increase his offer/bid to all shareholders at 16.5p, not 13p....

Just going off what I got in my account. Bit clear as mud with the court action etc.

Just had a read of latest notice as follows:

The offer by Solomon Capital Limited to acquire all the outstanding shares of Metals Exploration Plc has been
declared wholly unconditional and will remain open for acceptance until further notice. The terms of the offer are:
For each share held in Metals Exploration Plc - 13 pence.

Anyone any idea what's going on here?? When are the T/O Panel going to rule on this? I have 400,000 of these from the 12p placing and no way am I going to vote for Candy et al.

Interesting thoughts from Evil Knievil today...

" Over at Metals Exploration (MTL) I understand that 30%+ of the shares in issue have yet to assent to the Candy bid. This means that even if the Takeover Panel sets aside this 13p cash bid (which it well might in the light of how it has been handled) the bid has failed. It will need to be renewed above 30p, possibly 40p. Not even the threat of delisting denies the attractions of this investment. I suppose one can pay up to 25p with a clear conscience."

i think this means bid is falling away unless takeover panel demand a higher bid than 13p because of the concert party issue and then that is accepted by enough shareholders to enable candys to continue with privatisation of company
