If there was an issue this would have dropped 20% when the market opened. As it is the MM's will now play on this uncertainty and people selling as an opportunity to drop the price anyway.

Agree corrientes, but a silly RNS that lacked content is bound to have a negative effect on people holding inv..........wbj

This company has its doubters whatever it does. Whether its good, bad or neutral news, its taken as bad news because its MPH. A bit daft now when you look at the progress they've made.

Sold out the last of my mph stock. Only 2826 shares at 119.25. Happy to get that after what i read over the weekend. Looks like any extra shares may be used for acquisition after all. Its annoying as altho I need cash in my account at the moment for other things I had decided to hold after the good results, but with last fridays news I, like many others probably had just had enough of the uncertainty that MPH gives. If that RNS proves not to be as bad as feared I do see these still flying. Good luck to all holders.

Well, i am out. I will watch and maybe get back in if I have misunderstood something.

Had to get up in the middle of the night to do this as I am in USA. Couldn't take a chance though on big falls while I slept....

the panic that has been evident here after the late friday RNS shows how ignorant people can sometimes be.

dilution? what dilution?

this is not the first time MPH has applied for a blocklisting of its shares in relation to possible exercise of options.

check, for example, RNS releases on 02/03/06 and 15/05/05.

did the news have an adverse impact on the share price?

on the contrary, the share prices surged after 02/03/06 due to positive acquisition news.

Sincerely hoping we haven't been shot in the foot here. Not keen on armegeddon hour, RNS's.

As mentioned, depends completely on the option price. If it is 125p (old 25p) I have no real problem with the company selling 7m shares to its employees and effectively raising 8.75m cash with minimal true dilution.

Would give them a nice war chest and clear any bank loans!

I do however believe the figure is wrong.

well at least that should be the end of any dilution and at least the company is grossly underpriced whilst continuing to make good profits

Morning all,
I cannot believe that the RNS is a mistake and as remynapoleon stated we have authorised the company to allot up to 9 million shares under the compasny employee share scheme. Therefore I conclude with remy in that "the acquistion is a private company, with a sole owner, who is willing to accept shares/options in MPH as total or substantial part payment" Options may be based on performance and therfore have nill earnings dilution.

Off for the day with two grandchildren so I will have to much fun on the slides to concern me with MPH, but imho there is nothing to worry about, enjoy the weekend and cu all on Monday.................wbj

Indeed CIR. Which would be the same effect as a rights issue at about that price, putting funds into Marchpole's coffers. So nothing to worry about. Effectively if there are 7m options out there at say 100p (old 20p) then Marchpole gets 7m to clear debt - they have to pay for the shares still!

2006 Annual report: (These are on OLD share basis so divide by 5)
