Food for thought, simply put.

PapalPower - 17 Nov'06 - 14:55 - 1918 of 1921

Double bagger, my first lot were at 28p, so I'm at 4 bagger. Tis a lesson to be learned, hold through the ups and downs, and value will out in the end.

Longer term holding of stocks for a couple of years, pays back handsomely more times than not.

This new love of quick in and out is making money only for MM's and SB firms, the private normally loses the lot sooner or later.

Signs of moves to next stop 125p? Keep holding as wbj would say.

From 1/11/2006 @ 100p MPH showing gains of +20%.Sellers sold prematurely in my view.HOLD.aimvho.VLK also strong buy from 100p,have a feeling more contracts wins in the offing, currently 111p/113p +4.7% today.

wbj,VLK - thanks for looking at p/e ratios and doing risk reward assessment for me.Bought @ 90p up + 20% v MPH up 19% Mentioned here as stocks to make profits on which both have.TFC was mentioned "watch" what it does @ 60p,did dip intraday 57p-58p re-entered sub 60p.To early for confirmation of direction & jury is out-needs to move 62.5p-64p,agree not an obvious buy candidate. My best guess is UP.Rightly or wrongly make a few mentions as "diversions" to MPH,state my position and views.Gaol is to get more right than wrong,or if 100% need 100% be right.Oil,oilies and metals got toppy on recent rise & taken a tumble proving knowing when to sell is equally as when to buy particulary if buying recent highs.Circumstances & events influence fickle markets and individual stocks.Poor old VED! Thank you for letting me speak as I think.thx lex.

(for info: the jacket and teddy bear on the front cover of last week's Sunday Times style magazine were JCC. We'll probably get a bump up when people get that far reading through the paper, estimate about March 2007).

VSK looks a great company but trading on a p/e ratio of over 33 and a future p/e of 16 it is to pricy for me. To much risk to reward imho, but thats not to say it wont continue north. Staying put myself...........regards wbj

MPH imvho remain undervalued on what we now know and looking forward to the future.Remains rock solid investment, long termers witnessing rising share price to fairer value.First to admit been boring but what a bloody strong support @ 100p.Chuffed to bits for big holders.Conservative value of 135p sits comfortably between 120p-150p.If you work on the assumption that MPH worth at least 125p and arguably more than 135p shares currently selling at a discount.Do not forget the dividend which should be worth much more in percentage terms in the future for holders from 100p or less.

Raised the question whether recent sellers of MPH have put money elsewhere into stock which has fallen? Could be losing some or all profits made from MPH? Proving that the grass is not alaways greener the other side although one of the exceptions is Vislink mentioned off-topic here as strong buy playing with 110p only marginally ahead of MPH @ 20%.The rest of the market proving worth of top slicing and banking profits.

Sometimes PIs fall into the trap of selling at a loss only to move onto another stock not researched as well to sell at loss with continuous loss of capital and confidence.View psychology, knowledge and having unemotional strategies pre-requisite before putting any money in the markets.

Yes there is always a time important to know when to SELL, however , have sung praises here of someone learning all these lessons whilst HOLDING.Buying is easy, taking as read should have stop loss, entry and exit strategies MPH has proven the power of research and amazing strength to hold.Point being made is that probably bigger winner than one realises.

To repeat in certain circumstances the point being made is probably much bigger winner than one may know or think.

In general there is a strong case to be made about strategy and consideration of banking profits. This means never falling in love with any one stock.

Don't always get it right myself don't pretend to and lose profits by not selling sooner.

Opinions on MPH and how see share price trading are genuine ones.In terms of nitty gritty of balance sheets, eps leave ALL of that to the really smart ones on this thread!

Well done big holders.

Warning shares go up and down never in a straight line.MPH R = 120p & R =125p

edit:VLK falling back

Comparing example SEY to MPH when both @ 20p/100p.SEY 87.5p and MPH 120p.AHT 139p then 146p/147p now.

Hardmans 136p target is based on only 20% transfer of sales YSL to Ungaro. This could be far far higher.

Nardelli each to their own, but I agree with you after the bumpy ride and all false dawns it seem strange to sell now that sentiment is changing. I still maintain this company will hit £2 + in the near future......wbj

I can see no logic to selling out of mph at this time, second half is always much better than summer, and it make more sense to give it a full year to take a view, that is of course if you cannot see a risk to the downside.

Gradually we seem to be creeping up - must say I'm surprised at the slow progress, given the strength of the results. That said, this share may require tipping to get it going again because it's not the best known and has had dark days in the recent past.
