Something not right here. The price plummets, a few chancers have a go, the price rises only to fall again.

I bought a very small amount of shares a couple of weeks back seeing support around 110 to 120, as I find actually holding a stock focuses my mind.

The market seems to be aware that Marchpole have problems that are not yet in the public domain. Having said that, this is a massive a setback in share price and I am very surprised that even ADVFN posters have not got any inkling for the reason.

A 5k sell snuck through on Plus at 13:47, so not absolutely sure....

Anyway as you say we are leading up to results, any profit warnings would have been issued by now if they were coming, so it must be tempting for traders to play the period up to interims.

Who knows. Doubt Barclays (or whoever they hold for) would sell their 11.5% anywhere near south of 200p in the event of an attempted buyout.

I suppose this could have been heavily shorted, with positions now being closed out in reverse...

Probably, sometimes it seems the price moves after some news is put on here.

After all their job is to work the punters ticket, so why wouldnt you keep an eye here if you were an MM?
