No, the main YSL operation worldwide is based on directly operated stores and has revenues of Euro 162m and a loss of 10s of millions (Euro40m? - can't find the figure at the mo)

Marchpole handles the menswear diffusion range in the UK only from which PPR receives license revenues - pure profit to PPR.

The above deal detail illustrates the deal making capacity of this company.

Okaidi is a great company to strike a deal with. They have also done deals with / have relationships with Debenhams, Moss Bros, PPR, Saks, Macys, Galeries Lafayette, Le Coq Sportif, Rossignol [Quiksilver], Swatch, Codir, 3 Suisses, Smart [Cars], Ferragamo, Via Bus Stop, Itochu etc etc.

If nothing else they are very good and experienced deal makers.

The work done to expand the JCC license deals and the impressive way publicity has been generated in the last year (JCC on front page of the Sun, V & A exhibition etc etc) do give you confidence.

No love lost between MMs either eh?!

The guy who took the 15k @ 19p at 13:19 got well and truly sold a pup!

-mms picked up 242,000 shares @ 18.5p
-and on the mark down 165,264 shares @ 18p out of which sold 40,000 @ 18.32p.
-Therefore 125,264 remain unsold and leaves scope for mark down at open i.e 17.75p-18.25p.Would hope to see buyers coming in to support @ 18p as happened on the way up from 12p-13p.

Smelt of a final dump that 200k. I think someone (GT?) has been bleeding them out since results.

Dumping 200k would be foreseen to have an effect, so the person holding probably just got rid of the final lot... (hopefully..!)

This was contributory cause of drop today.Sold for discount 0.50 under bid 18/07/2006 11:45:34 18.50 200000 i.e penalised -2.70% selling over nms when share price trading 19p-19.5p.

These panic, selling any cost, help mickey makers trigger stop losses, followed up by mm selling 13:19 walking share price down.

lol. Dont think you can get done for selling clothes in the US. Although investing in Marchpole probably puts you through the wringer the same way as online gambling does....

Anyway, a fretful day of quickly moving stops nearing its end....!

Depending on what tomorrow morning brings, it may be time to add a few more. Cant see the deal RNS coming soon (possibly held back a bit?) but can see a possible trading update.

The stupid thing is if someone came along to you with a company and said:

"I'll sell you my company for £180,000. I'll give you a divi of £4,500 back straight away. In the next two years its expected to make £66,000. After that the future is a little uncertain, but we have done some stonking new deals for the future. We've taken over the business in a neighboring town and are combining supply etc to reduce costs. Sales were about £300,000 last year and Gross profit Margin over 40%, nearer 50% without exceptional costs. Sales for H1 this year are over £300,000 already".

Personally I'd bite their hand off.....

Hopefully the Co will issue a Q1 trading statement, ahead of expectations would do nicely!!

This should be imminent based on the last two years.

Everyone having summer sales including MPH it would seem.If we stay below 19p then anything between 15p-18p is possible.Summer madness but there you go if market can squeeze out sellers share price can be moved lower even on thinest of volumes.

Ironic, isn't it, but we probably don't want that "imminent" announcement now.

Highlighting that they are doing business in the middle east will probably send the share DOWN, even though their exposure is wholesale / license based.

Seems to be a smash and grab by the MMs on the small - Mid caps. FTSE is level but over the whole market:

Advancing 472 17%
Declining 725 27%
Unchanged 1478 56%

LMDP - Greg Tufnell is inevitably going to realise the value of the shares he got under options at 4.75p. Wouldnt you in the circs? I am not sure it is him, but he is the most likely suspect.

What has no relevance, the 200k sell? Do you know it was him? There has been a lot of sells over the last few weeks but not a great deal of volume. Drop is overdone. Last few stragglers from pre-results exiting as the imminent news has not arrived yet and they've given up. Plus the usual few who panic re-middle east etc.
