22/9/2018 09:41 | He lambastes Bills but is on a trip to Vegas? Anyone spot the irony here? | minerve
22/9/2018 08:46 | Hi Getting. The Times today gives a restaurant called Tast Cuina Catalana quite a good write up. Don’t know Manchester. Too far north and I don’t have particularly good rain clothes. I could recommend good restaurants in Bristol!!! | brexitplus
21/9/2018 22:59 | Less than two weeks until Vegas. Five more added to the party apparently so now 23 of us going. Night out in Manchester the day before we fly. Anyone know any good restaurants in Manchester? Something decent, not a Bills! | gettingrichslow
21/9/2018 21:41 | So great, you're back home by 9.41PM or choose to excuse yourself to come on ADVFN! ROFLMAO! | minerve
21/9/2018 21:21 | Fabulous evening at my local. Brilliant range of locally brewed beers. Nice people. So many happy people. Wonderful. | brexitplus
21/9/2018 20:14 | Meanwhile, calm down and try being happier for a while, you might enjoy it! | gettingrichslow
21/9/2018 18:28 | brexit, the sage and all-round nice man. He agrees with all newcomers, at least until they cross him. With his pitiful class of degree, he has to agree with Eaglebeagle on this one. | meanwhile
21/9/2018 16:59 | Eaglebeagle Totally agree. | brexitplus
21/9/2018 16:33 | Academic success and corporate success are clearly not 100% correlated. The better universities can get you a good standard of living but real success can come from any background at all. Much better to know yourself and love what you do. | eaglebeagle
21/9/2018 11:30 | Apologies to getting, but come on now, why can't we all just get along? And look at my wallet. And I'm in Wales with lots of sheep. Did you find that interesting? | meanwhile
21/9/2018 10:57 | Sounds like you're making a slightly desperate case for why you went to a third rate university. Could it be that you just weren't/ aren't bright enough to get in to a better one? I had an interview for Cambridge. Fluffed the interview when they started grilling me and I wasn't strong enough to take the pressure. I was 18 and not resilient enough. So fair enough, I admitted defeat and moved on. Maybe you need to do the same? | gettingrichslow
21/9/2018 10:48 | Oh dear, oh dear. Sounds like a huge lack of self-esteem to me. Perhaps you should try an online degree with a real university. Try Coursera. Come on now. Filter me. | brexitplus
21/9/2018 10:45 | Is there even a university in Pontypridd? Why would anyone go??! | gettingrichslow
21/9/2018 10:37 | Well actually, until 1976 when Loughborough University of Technology amalgamated with Loughborough Colleges this may have been true. In fact the University qualifications were high, the Colleges not so, although the teachers were excellent. Now the entry qualifications are much higher across the board, and much higher than the pretend university in Pontypridd. How do I know this. Well, I was doing my Postgrad at the time and playing lots or rugby and cricket in wonderful facilities. I’m not sure thrillers set in Florida qualify as literature. Off to the great city of Bristol now. Keep trying!! | brexitplus
21/9/2018 10:32 | Shame they don't concentrate on literature at that university as they do sporting prowess. Most of them are average intellectuals who are very good at sport. Is that you brexit? You are not an intellectual so you must be good at something, apart from having one lunch too many. | minerve
21/9/2018 10:28 | brexit It's a Max Cady quote. Max Cady is a fictional character and the primary antagonist of the John D. MacDonald novel The Executioners. 21/9/2018 10:22 | Defence, not defense, unless you are a Yank. | brexitplus
21/9/2018 09:55 | It's not necessary to lay a foul tongue on me my friend. I could get upset. Things could get out of hand. Then in self defense, I could do something to you that you would not like, right here. | minerve
21/9/2018 09:39 | “Maybe time is near to move on.” Try 6ft under. It would make you very popular!!! | brexitplus |
