All seems to be coming together nicely!

Possibly too late for Minerve's neighbour, but DNA repair is very much 'in vogue' currently. 20 years ago I was working at the forefront of diagnostics in supporting and training scientists in identifying a few specific DNA portions. Through DNA amplification we could aid diagnosis for some disease states normally difficult to ascertain (TB, Chlamydia etc). Now the clock has ticked on rapidly and to be able to repair DNA - in effect, to 'cure' some cancers, MS and diabetes - is a phenomenal leap forewards. In the not too distant future, spinal cord repairs will be passe, and old age a treatable condition, no doubt. We do live in an amazing time!

Artios unlisted. Look at their website or Arix website. Also held by Syncona in CRT Pioneer fund.

Interesting development - I also bought a few k's of Arix this morning (170p) but I can't find Artios listed anywhere?

Thanks for the info.

Bought some Arix this morning. Stands a chance of a profit. Artios looks promising. DNA repair. Interesting interview on Proactive Investor.

I probably did. Electrochemistry and I didn’t get on that well.

My lecturer was Noel Hampson who was a pioneer in fuel cells. Every summer he disappeared to NASA to work on the space programme. The day they announced there was a fuel cell failure in space he came in white as a sheet and very worried. Lovely man.

Another good day for Syncona, Plus and Melrose. Arix also up.

Lol!

B+; Did you come across Henderson - Hasselbalch and Beer-Lambert in your studies too, or were you more of a Boyle's and Ohms man ? Still absolutely relevant today as they were when I started out in the mid-70's! That's the thing about physical laws, they don't ever change, thankfully.

Didn’t Oscar Wilde write a play about The Importance of Being Nernst?
(Or maybe he was just dyslexic!)

Nernst equation. There’s one from the past. I did electrochemistry as an elective many years ago. Not boasting of course. Ended in polymer chemistry.

I'm still slogging away at work, equally comfortable with a Phillips No.2 or the Nernst equation!

Don't mention Argyle - not in a happy place at the mo, but it can all change (I hope).

Good choice Yertiz on your second home.

Ah well, you see - my future second home is free of stamp duty, council tax and has no risk of subsidence, unless the wheels sink into mud!

Leukaemia is soon to be a completely treatable condition - there are over 90 different classifications for this disease, very few are terminal on diagnosis, unless the sufferer has ignored the symptoms. You can thank Roche, GSK and J&J (and several other study groups, research scientists and clinical trials) for some marked improvements in treatment tailored for each case. I guess your neighbours were very unlucky, could happen to anyone but what's the point of worrying about things that haven't happened?

Can you have a "next" second home? Wouldn't it be a third?

Thanks MEANWHILE for your comments the other day. I too hold your comments with considerable weight, unlike the morons' comments which 'are for the birds'. ;)

Tried taking a trip down memory lane and visited the iii site - how they have made...and continue to make...such a pig's orphan out of what was a perfectly reasonable site is beyond me. Is anyone still posting on there or are we only left with ADVFN as the best alternative?

Just off to view my next second home.... care to comment, Minerve?

A moron has to be described as a moron. You do not own this thread. We are not in China. Create the argument, don't run from it or sweep it under the carpet - that is the action of a moron, or, if you prefer, a chimp. :)
