Yertiz - "there should be some prize at the end...perhaps a candlelit dinner for two with Minerve?"

Let's have three prizes, I suggest:-

1st. Prize, candlelit dinner with Minerve

2nd. Prize, two candlelit dinners with Minerve

3rd. Prize, three candlelit dinners with Minerve.

MEANWHILE - "I am, though, rather reluctant to mention cats with Minerve about."

Or dogs haha. I love my four legged friends be they feline or cannine.

Moody again. Should stop listening to the morning news.

Maybe when the vote's announced, all voters should be taken into account, I think the word in establishment circles is 'respected'. For example if Melrose win but GKN get 48%, some of the GKN board would be retained and 48% of Project Boost would be implemented. The company would use some suppliers put forward by ex GKN Board members & GKN pensioners.

In fact you could use the Brexit model, since this is what we're getting with Brexit.

Great idea, Yertiz.

In the unlikely event of me winning, I won't be giving myself a signed copy of my wallet; there would be little point because I can just get the wallet out of my pocket anytime and view it.
I will therefore buy myself a McDonalds Mcflurry, dairy milk version, and, to follow Yertiz lead, I'll give £50 to Cats Protection.

I am, though, rather reluctant to mention cats with Minerve about.

Judging by the wonderful prizes on offer I would have to say GKN closing price will be 428p.

If I’m on the ball I’ll donate £50 to Plymouth and District Leukaemia fund, a wonderful group who have supported members of my family during some pretty horrible times.

Yertiz, you're not in it yet because you haven't declared a GKN closing price...

Looking a little better for Melrose today, judged by share movements.

Yertiz, my wallet photo will be signed by me, witnessed by a doctor and will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. The pen is a basic pen, which may have some writing on the side.

If you want more than that, then I think you must have been spoilt as a child.

Getting ...

Been thinking about the result

Narrow Melrose win

MRO. 230

GKN 435

Is there room in m’s bog (I’m sure he has the biggest bog) for dinner for two? He seems to have been there all day; perhaps he lives there.

Well said Yertiz, why not "Myositis Appeal" also, a condition with which I am well familiar.
Or dare I say it, we could think of Tourettes Action!

That's a damn sight more attractive than having a candlelit dinner with Minerve I suppose. Yertiz - you didn't give me a closing price for GKN. Could be all important in deciding the outcome. Some closely bunched predictions so far apart from Minerve who has gone for some wild numbers (MRO 150; GKN 480)

Fair point GRS, there should be some prize at the end...perhaps a candlelit dinner for two with Minerve?

IQE ran a 'guess the share price on Friday' where a contribution was made by the organizer to a charity of the winner's selection - Myositis Appeal gained £50 - very generous and a worthy cause.

Getting ... since you want my opinion.

Too close to give predictions. I tend to go along with Yertiz, so use his figures.

Of importance in the final result I think the 5.76% in favour a while ago will be very important. As stated in the media this was much higher than expected at that stage. Unlikely to be institutions who tend to declare late so may be small holders fed up with GKN.

Today’s RNS from GKN looks a bit desperate.

If they were in talks with Dana why wasn’t it declared to the market, and to the MPs?

Why wasn’t Project Boost notified to shareholders earlier than 12 January after the Melrose interest?

Also, the £70 million bonus to 400 top managers, averaging £175,000 each. Why will they be any better for the bonus after the poor performance?

Just a few thoughts. Look out for Melrose reply.

Back to my cooking!!!

Thanks Yertiz. Need predictions from grahamburn, Mayers, Brexitplus and others still. I'll accept Meanwhile's interpretation of Minerve's prediction as a valid entry too!

I still think the bid will win, and on that basis I see Melrose hitting the dizzy heights of 229.5p at c.o.p on 30th. As the result is a win, there's no price for GKN.

More interesting will be the end of year price for MRO should the above be true. We could easily be in the £3 territory by then.
