given the shortage of radiologists, they should be well-placed if they can recruit sufficient to run their out -of -hours services. This seems to be the main problem.
would have thought there ought to be an opportunity also in Pathology though that would require up-front investment.

Love how quiet this share is. Particularly pleased with 16% increase in capacity following recruitment. Suspect it won't be difficult to fill!

Medica Group plc issued a trading update for FY22 and an outlook for FY23 this morning. Medica had a strong performance for the second half of the year across the Group driven in particular by UK Elective revenues returning to expected levels. Group revenue of £77.0 million for the twelve-month period ending 31 December 2022 was in-line with market expectations and represents an increase of 24% over 2021. Gross margins also remained resilient at 48%, operating profit is expected in line with expectations. The balance sheet is solid, Medica had £0.5 million of net cash at 31 December 2022. Medica continues to evaluate strategic acquisition opportunities to expand the scale and therapeutic focus of its clinical trials business, as well as to accelerate wider growth and differentiation of the business while also continuing to focus on new areas of organic growth. Valuation is attractive, profitability is high and the business has a solid history of growth. BUY...

The key to any operator within the sector whether NHS or private is access to a sufficient pool of radiologists, that's the bottleneck. There appears to be plenty of work available for the foreseeable future for operators with capacity. Hopefully MGP's investment in systems, quality and joint ventures will stand them in good stead.

Giving GPs more access to CT imaging, the possibility of which is raised in today's Times (hxxps://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/life-saving-cancer-diagnosis-plan-will-slash-nhs-waiting-times-for-scans-jdn9qbszq) will flood the (NHS) market and spill over into independent providers. Medica stands in good stead for this.

Some decent institutional top-ups this week. Aberforth yesterday (about 700k shares) and a Gresham House fund (Strategic Equity Capital) on Monday (nearly 1.5m shares).

c34, I see that Lombard Odier increased their SBI holding to over 26%. They must like the sector. SBI share price has been as dull as ditchwater for a few months, not that that's a bad thing necessarily in the current market.

could SBI's path service represent a better opportunity than MGP's radiology service which struggles to recruit?

Been in this since float. Very necessary offering and expanding internationally. 24hr service with recruitment in Australia & NZ. At this level I am looking to add. DYOR

Anyone in this at the moment? I have bought at this level before and done quite nicely out of it. Last set of figures looked decent, albeit with the usual caveat about struggling to find radiographers.

That’s a nice stake that Lombard Odier Asset Management have taken straight off the bat. 6.3m shares and over a 5% stake. Must be confident for future growth as market recovers?

Mangement over promised and under delivered again. Disappointing. Not the first time they have had capacity issues either

Capacity issues with availability of radiographers? Was the only thing I spotted, though I did admittedly skim through it (no position here at the moment).

Strong results across the board and demand still increasing.hard to understand the 8% decline at the open? This market is so frustrating but patience will out for LTH’s eventually and we have a another dividend to collect.

Boonkoh, your question has been partly answered I guess by todays RNS? The answer being major institutional investor has INCREASED their holding to over 17%, with over 5% of the company shares changing hands in these trades. A reminder that "selling down" could equally mean "buying up"! Especially when the share price doesn't move as it didn't. We should get another RNS in the next few days from the seller or sellers as you can't just buy 6M+ of these shares in the open market given the average traded volumes.
