I think that is a good set of results. 18bt, the management presentation on the website suggest US delivered in first 9 months and outlook is positive. Feeling much better about this than I was at the start of March.

At first sight, these look good - it's well hell of a recovery post COVID and acquisitions appear to put them in a strong postion. Slightly muted comments about the US acquisition.

Disgusting little company run by a group of disgusting narrow minded people. How these people have treated some of their staff beggars belief.

Omicron is doing us a huge favour - displacing the far more damaging Delta variant. The peak is past in London and if we follow South Africa the decline will be rapid. The speed of transmission is such that we'll be through this wave, across the UK, in a couple of weeks.

The problem is that with the self-isolation of NHS staff they are struggling to cope even though the hospitalisation rate is lower and ICU demand is far lower. But at least there appears to be light at the end of this dark tunnel.

What state the NHS is in post-Covid is the major concern, staff burn-out, funding and accumulated demand pressures from postponed treatment. The Govt must not think that everything is fine once Covid is past - there is a big NHS repair job required if collapse is to be avoided.

Yup, so half a month later, looks like the Imperial College initially assessment was wrong. Much less hospitalisations per 1000 cases.I still believe that we will see a miss to expectations in the next update. Procedures and tests are being cancelled. Either voluntarily or involuntarily due to lack of staff. But as always, everyone can have their own opinion on the outlook.

wrong on all counts I am afraid Boonkoh

very few procedures cancelled and any impact will be short lived.

Liberum comment: our DCF-derived target price climbs from 235p to 245p. Buy for underappreciated growth.

Latest imperial college omicron study not good news.As severe in hospitalisations as Delta. This means we'll surpass the peak of hospital admissions we saw in early 2021 with Delta. Which will lead to cancelled non-urgent procedures. Less work for Medica. Profit warning to come IMO.

Institutional volumes still going through the books during this consolidation range. Meanwhile, clues for the company horizon in the Head-office recruitment ads. Under that for Group Financial Reporting Manager: "...with the likelihood that our group functions will be permanently established in London during 2022."HTtps://medica.recruitee.com/o/group-financial-reporting-manager

The new PACS system is also due to become operational in early 2022, it is purported to offer productivity benefits amongst its many virtues.

Good questions. From what I can recall, during 2020, Medica increased reporter capacity by 13%. This is measured by committed hours, so a function of both reporters and also hours rostered per reporter. So two ways to increase this. I'm glad to see Medica have been disciplined to keep capacity flat for the first 6 months of 2021, and have increased capacity by a further 3.5% since June when picture became clearer. So all in all, some 17% higher than 2019?Given we are still re-expanding into 2019 LFL figures, it's probably fair to see that there was underutilisation and that there is some operational gearing to take advantage of coming up? So I'd take a starter of 17% to capitalise on before any other measures - not to mention that of that 17% growth, elective will be higher margin than Nighthawk. Not sure on U.K./AUS numbers, another good question and can't seem to find the answer. Will ask at next presentation.

But can Medica actually capitalise/maximise the opportunity? On the other side of the equation they will be constrained by their own reporter capacity. Latest statements don't indicate they're planning a big aggressive ramp up in reporter capacity? There is the Australia JV but realistically how many Aussie radiologists will be UK or Ireland qualified? For me yes, I can see maybe 15%, 20% revenue growth from Elective over the next year, due to backlog. But not much more due to reporter capacity issues.

More diagnostic tests without more radiologists ensures a very strong tailwind for MGP. Hospitals are renting more equipment at the moment and plonk it carparks etc. At St Mary's in Paddington we then send some of this off to be read to ensure we keep up. I can see the need to do that increasing because the last thing you want is expensive machinery not being used especially when there is a clinical need.

Results OK but the trading statement on last 3 months appears to underpin market forecasts and 2022 PER of c20x, which neatly fits with the c20% EPS growth expected in that year. Semes a decent medium term growth story.
