24/11/2014 23:06 | This company is valued at almost £4M if you take into account the negative tangible assets. Not bad considering it loses money every year no matter what. An RNS full of puff and hope and it goes up 176%. No doubt just in time for the placing to keep the salaries going for another 6 months. Read back and see there is always "news" just before a placing. | frjdnverijtnhj8568934

SHE smiles, welcomes patients and offers advice – but the latest “member of staff” at a Scots hospital isn’t all she appears to be. A computer-generated hologram called EVA will today begin her first shift in the foyer of Forth Valley Royal Hospital. EVA – which stands for Electronic Virtual Assistant – will relay information on subjects including quitting smoking, the use of hand gel to stop infection and what’s on in the hospital’s restaurant. The 2D hologram uses the voice of Scots actress Carina Birrell, 27. Mike Mackay, from Serco, who manage the hospital, said: “She will certainly catch the eye of patients, staff and visitors. “Her messages are clear and succinct and she will always be pleasant and calm.” EVA was given a trial run yesterday. Hospital visitor Dennis Ryan, 39, from Falkirk, said: “As we walked into the hospital, I said to my son, ‘There’s a woman there but it’s not a real woman’. “When we got closer, I could see it was a hologram – a bit like Princess Leia in the first Star Wars film.” Emma Donnelly, 11, added: “She’s really cool. From a distance, she looks real.” The hospital already make good use of technology. They have laser-guided robots to transport food, waste and linen and a robotic pharmacy system. | jumbone

24/11/2014 18:50 | Mediazest jumps after officially launching Retail Analytics product Sharecast – 4 hours ago LONDON (ShareCast) - Mediazest shares rocketed on Monday after launching its retail data gathering product, MediaZest Retail Analytics. The product, which has been developed in conjunction with Argus Global Biometrics Technologies, is the first scalable intellectual property asset the group has added since inception. Chief executive Geoff Robertson said: "This development is of tremendous significance for the group. Recent high profile audio visual integration projects show how well the group delivers its work, but are by their nature longer-term opportunities and timing can be difficult to predict. The MediaZest Retail Analytics system provides us with a product that in its very nature delivers constant information and reports to clients and as such will give us better ongoing monthly fees and much greater revenue visibility moving forward. "We have seen a huge amount of interest in the product when showing existing and prospective clients and we expect it to have a big impact on the business over the next 12 months and beyond. By providing anonymous but genuine 'big data' information to retailers we believe we are leading the market in the information currently available in bricks and mortar retail stores." The group anticipates that existing customers will use the system to ascertain the success of audio-visual installations and a whole new set of customer using the system purely to provide data to help them run their businesses better. After soft launching the product in October, the group has also sold and deployed it to a global retailer for an initial site. It said it expects to announce further similar deals in the next quarter. | h2owater
