Lady we have had a seller for 4 weeks now selling a decent position.

It will not last forever and Holt and the company simply could not be more bullish in todays statement!

Like I said before 300p by end of July.

Seymour Piece a week ago.

Our price target of 410p for Connaught and 340p for Mears
represents a 2010E PER of 15x and 14x respectively. While these valuations may seem
high in the context of the current macroeconomic climate, we would note that these
are still discounted when compared to each company's historical forward PER and, in
our view, are justified by the potential for upgrades from the social housing divisions and other key markets; both companies have a strong track record of earnings
upgrades.

Cant say more than this without being called a ramper.

Commenting, Bob Holt, Chief Executive of Mears Group, said:
"The level of opportunities have never been stronger both for our Social Housing
division where we continue to build substantial organic growth and in our Care
division where we have doubled revenues and profits since we entered this market
just two years ago and have a very strong platform from which to build
significant growth both organically and by further acquisitions

peter without doubt Mears is lagging the markets.

It appears someone can keep the shareprice where they want it.

There are a number of decisions regarding decent contracts coming this summer starting on the 10th July with confirmation of Brighton and Hove and a 230m to 240m contract.

Other contracts will follow.According to FD Andrew Smith the attention of Connaught "would hardly be surprising at these current levels"

The facts will speak when they are ready.

The trading pattern does seem a little strange, someone mentioned Connaught might come in.
In all honesty i havent had time to check out this rumour so dont know if there is anything in it.
What i do know is Mears are a very good well run company with loads of work being lined up

My thoughts are this company could be being set up to be bought. The trades suggest someone keeping a lid on things. Why? thats the question.
volvo

Thats a fact.No buying allowed.

We will get plenty of action through this summer.

These contracts could increase the order book by 50pc I am hearing.

JoshAlexander - if these contacts are a done deal the directors will know price sensitive info hence why they cant buy

Naked Trader openly admits too selling because he got bored with the lack of action.According to sources at the company the Brighton and Hove deal is done. This only one of 5 decent contracts nearing completion and there is going to broker upgrades and price averaging 350p.Totally agree with the 300p in 4 weeks senario.

peterboroughmatt - I monitor NT's trades from time to time as I find them a useful introduction to some solid companies I've never heard of - MER one of them. He certainly knows what he's doing but you'd be nuts to follow him in - already priced in, like most tips.

Mears has been my best performing share these last 2 months as I've had a couple of longs come good. I was surprised by the recent fall but glad to get in again at 231, especially with talk of new contracts and broker upgrades.
