Well it's a dire market currently and the £2.2m PBT earnings enhancement had already been outlined in the RNS of 3rd July. Funding @ 1.2% was additional news today though, as mentioned by crazycoops.

Transaction in Own Shares

18th August:
The Company has now entered into instructions with finnCap Ltd to enable the Company to buy back ordinary shares of 0.5p each in the capital of the Company up to 10% of the Company's issued share capital, subject to the parameters set out in the Company's announcement dated 1 August 2023. The Board also announces that, notwithstanding the authority granted at today's General Meeting, its intention is to undertake an initial buyback programme of up to 2% of the Company's issued share capital, subject to the same parameters (the "Buyback Programme").

1st September: First Tranche.
ME Group announces that on 31 August 2023, it purchased 136,691 of its own ordinary shares of 0.5p each into Treasury. These shares were purchased at an average price of 158.9p per share.

Taken from the GM RNS , 5 x 20,000 trades @ 153.60 this morning , so possibly the answer to your question is TODAY ;-))
