This should be a bread & butter question for a liquidator to answer. No they can't redistribute, they hold the money on trust for the person that hasn't cashed the cheque or, they can pay it over to the Insolvency Service who will hold it for them and pay any claims for it.

Hopefully they will resolve this and make the final payment without much further delay.

Payment is delayed as they are trying to work out what to do with the money they are holding to cover the cheques that have not been cashed to date.

No estimate for when this will be resolved

Can they redistribute held funds as part of the final payment or do they need to hold the insolvency open in case someone comes to them in n years asking for their money

Unfortunately we were unable to close the case last year as we were waiting on a final payment from a third part. This payment was finally received earlier this month. We will shortly begin the process of paying the final dividend to all members but at this time I am unable to give an estimate as to how much this will be.

All depends if the preference share holders that seem to have been created after it went private got their $$$$
They got the vast majority of the last payout. If they are done, could be 4p, if not, next to nothing.

There will be a final distribution for the shareholders of MDY Holdings Limited once we have received the final distribution from the liquidation of SIW Holdings Limited. This final distribution was expected in October but has been somewhat delayed.

We hope to finalise the liquidation and issue the final distribution early next year.

I wasn't aware that we seem to have gained a lot of preference share holders presumably once the Company was taken private

There was about 4.75M left but the sharks will get their bite before we get the crumbs
