06/9/2012 07:35 | Well, well, stuff happens! Bad luck on holders here, but at first sight it appears to be management failings at top level: operational and financial control. I haven't looked at the numbers here for years, but these support services companies never carry a lot of fat on their balance sheets - let's hope they have enough for the lean times ahead. Question is, will they secure decent contracts now? Or are they tainted, a bit like G4S for different reasons. EDIT: as recently as 24 July (AGM) they gave no indication of problems. But these didn't come out of the blue. | ![]() jonwig

11/7/2011 20:10 | UK analyst e-mail: May Gurney Integrated Services (MAYG) retained a "buy" recommendation from Brewin Dolphin with a target price of 338p. The support services provider had a strong start to the year as a result of increased government funding and future prospects are bright, says the broker, such as being the preferred bidder for a 96 million pound, seven year street maintenance contract. Furthermore, Brewin approves of the companies ability to diversify and reduce its dependence on the public sector, which is expected to increase spending cuts. Shares in May Gurney descended 4p to 280p. | ![]() red ninja
14/6/2011 18:34 | Seems pretty quiet here, but everything looks rather good. Only bought in recently unfortunately, but looks cheap to me, and I like the possible cross selling opportunities in Scotland as a result of the Turriff deal. Nice low rating, rock solid balance sheet and a divi to boot. Lovely! | connor23

30/3/2011 15:31 | Somerset yes a poor performance. But it is the exception that proves the rule. And with MG for the rule see their initial statement on previous year results/coming year forecast, their order book, cash position, acquisition of Turriff. These shares could well double (DYOR)in next 12 months. ssords | ![]() ssords
16/3/2011 09:57 | Red, yes and the "no worse than anyone else" justification doesn't really make MAYG appeal to me. Good companies should be good at what they do despite bad weather. MAYG were all over the shop, nobody including the council knew what was happening. | ![]() alter ego
16/3/2011 08:50 | The winter was bound to be disruptive. The share rise catchup has recently been followed by a bit of a dive. The house magazine is scary propaganda. Contract flow is reassuring. Somerset is not reassuring. Fool shows these shareholdings, which are different from above.
