ALR - looks interesting and might spike if interest does not wane.

So, that was the negative - what positives are there?

Just a matter of time before the herd latch on to this one. We have seen other stocks multibag. Another Darwin overhang play - just like GSR which four bagged in a few days.

Splish 'I never held the shares so I am not at a loss. But both of you pump & dump. Obviously you must get caught out sometimes.'

I never posted on ALR. I never bought ALR. I watched the posts and used it to improve my trading in general. So I never pumped and dumped. With imaginery trades I would have done well here. With the trading patterns I would have sold before the RNS.

There are many pump and dump shares out there. Buyer beware and DYOR come to mind. You must take everything with a pinch of salt. If someone says 25 bagger think that it may double if you are lucky. But beware who makes the claim. Look /know what their previous record is. It is likely to point you in the right direction.

Hope this helps.

Well, sorry Splish but I did not have my magic crystal ball available that day.

The share price fell extremely quickly and heavily over a relatively short period. In the majority of cases there would be a large bounce. On this occasion the RNS killed that and that was the time to cut your losses. Yes, in percentage terms the loss might have been quite big but you don't put large sums into a falling share or one which is risky.

All the posts made were simply highlighting a stock for a potential bounce. Some people did make a profit. The RNS could not reasonably be predicted except in general terms of this being a risky falling stock. This was a potentially 25 bagger and I could name several recent examples of dog shares like this which have multi-bagged.

Given the number of potential opportunities on AIM for large moves, yes I don't manage a profit from every situation. That's the nature of the market and thats why the CR thread is called a TRADING thread - not a thread for selecting SIPP shares. The distinction is quite important.

Hope that helps.

ALR-All trades in red are buys today, but limits now slashed and buyers paying more. This could be explosive back upwards if seller gone.ALR

If they got just one contract it could solve the loan note situation in a thrice IMO. It's up to Green Section Ltd to cut the deal, not alr, so the fact that alr is struggling financially should not be a big factor IMO. 100 councils in the UK want to switch to LED street lighting, it's up to GS to do a deal.

Besides, ALR do have a ceo with deep pockets who has supported them these past 5 years with big cash injections, reckon he won't stop now.

Yes a bit but he kept saying he really couldnt say much if that makes sense - touched on GSL and how connected they are, and ALR may have other products in the pipeline - mentioned how good our products are too. He was also bigging up the UK Green Investment Bank report.

So why aren't Green Section Ltd (and alr) getting the odd contract here and there? 100 UK councils want the stuff. Street lamp programs are being funded, left, right and centre. Why no contracts yet? Like someone said, just one contract would wipe away that Darwin loan, and the share price could ROCKET back to where it should be. The ALR Board have to issue some news, of how their negotations with councils are progressing.

The silence is deafening..........

Whatever....

Now - back to business and the purpose of this thread. The purpose being to follow his calls and usually do the opposite. Numerous multi baggers in 2014.

Of course I am not saying that these companies become overnight successes and ultimately they may fall back again. But you can pick up some stocks which might multibag short term. To give an example, MNC was one stock deramped some time ago and went from 0.7p to 4p in short order. It has fallen back again on poor sentiment and diminishing funds etc but is now sitting at about 0.45p.

Is it time to look at MNC again? Stigologist was calling that 0p not long back.

BMN - is that about to sky rocket? Last week he predicted the share price would fall to - (minus) 37p.

JQW - he was calling that a fraud. Cynically using poor sentiment on Chinese corporate governance to tar this stock with the same brush. Did anyone get their 5p divident recently? Think about it. Touched 14p recently and now up 50%.

So, this week's selection are these - The first two possible short term movers and the latter - might take a while longer to recover.

zeebi..why would you edit your earlier posts and remove the following statement?
Zeebi 10 Feb'15 - 10:38 - 29 of 29 0 0

"Anyone seen that news this morning ? a canadian company almost identical to ALR
has just been bought for the equivalent of 15 times ALR,s market cap and they
have no revenue or any patents.Makes you wonder what this could be worth?

I see the secretary of state for energy is making a statement this thursday
on Green Street Lighting,as ALR is one of very few players in this market
there is a good chance of some chunky orders around the corner.

That distribution agreement they just signed is now making alot of sense!"

I have had a good look around and the only takeover of sorts that I can see is that of canadian company lumenpulse taking over Ariane controls.
lumenpulse are capped at 400 million canadian but have sales of 100 mil a year.

looking forward to hearing what Ed our energy secretary has to say tomorrow.
