MB's buying into MATRA in the spring of 2012 caused a lot of excitement and a rapid rise in the MTA share price from circa 1p to circa 3p in a matter of weeks. Luckily I topped up when he bought in as the share price took a day or two before it took off. The market took a few days to take in MB's past successes, notably Swedish quoted, but Russian based, WSR which had, if I remember correctly, 10 bagged at least whilst MB was CEO (from 2004 to when it was sold in 2007). It was a record that led the 3 Russian oligarchs in charge at Russian oil giant TNK to make him CEO. However he soon fell out with the 3 owners and was shown the door.

Of course MB's success at WSR happened at a time when the oil price went from US$40 to US$100 per bbl. That obviously contributed greatly to his success, but he still did well to save a failing oil company and grow it whilst he was in charge.

Of course the hype and enthusiasm that greeted MB's arrival at MTA didn't last that long and the share price soon fell back.

Be interesting to see what the share price will be when MATRA relists in Sweden and the resulting Mkt Cap. I wish the existing shareholders ATB.

Hi fbrj. I remember you well. You are correct. Both my son & I lost money on MTA over the years, but fortunately we both sold out completely in the summer of 2012 at around 2.3-2.5p. That was just a few months after the hype associated with MB's arrival caused the share price to rocket from circa 1p to just over 3p in a matter of weeks.

Best of luck with MTA, fbrj. And you to nedhammers1. Best to steer clear of AIM oil exploration shares. For every success story like COVE there are 10 absolute disasters such as TRP. In fact probably best to steer clear of AIM shares period.

Hi there Paps - yes I remember you well.....I think you used to hold some of these with your son - right? I see your ichimoo whats it link is still featuring in the header info above.

I'm still holding (and hoping!). I rarely comment here as with effectively zero information there has not been much to go on. Apart from MTA I hold 1 other oiler (another dud - about to cancel its lse listing and be only quoted/traded on TSX). Live and learn eh?

Virtually all my investments have been much more sensible and properly researched by me before plunging in and more importantly showing good gains overall.

Mauler1975. If you had 250,000 shares, you will now have 5000 shares.

mauler - If you divide your original shareholding by 200 you should have your consolidated shareholding.

Hi, total novice invester here. Been in Matra for years, received notification of 5x1 share allocation, then received a CDI from computer share which now shows only 1000th of the shares.

Do we still hold the 250k worth of shares or now only 2500?

10 sek was as I understand it an offer price for a short period in line with trying to attract some larger and/or institutional investors. The offer/buy window has now closed.
Such an offering would normally be interpreted as a discount price. However any discount price is still a punt as it could come in at a lower share price or otherwise. The market will let us know quote soon I expect.
Matranb it seems are of the view that the market should price its value somewhat higher.
lets see.

Calm I don't really care who you are (or whether it is libel or slander) but as far as I'm concerned you have done us a huge favour getting shot of that fxxxwit Superted (talk about oxymoron!). I've been here since the very old days when in old money some shares cost 7p each but have averaged down significantly since.
Ppl might ask themselves where MTA might be now if still under the old team in Russia. At least we are still alive and in with a chance!
I just don't believe MB is looking to take us PIs deliberately to the cleaners - he is a young man and his public professional profile would be destroyed. That can take years to achieve but can be snuffed out in a flash. I'm sure I'll be told I'm gullible etc but for the time being I'm prepared to hang onto his coat tails for the next instalment......

All,
For clarity: I've followed this board with interest. I'm not a LTH and merely took a punt on relisting. My average price is 0.69p, old money.

Now, on to the bickering. ADVFN,iii,LSE (when they get their finger out) don't police the boards, but they are aware that they might, and at sometime in the future will IMO, be held responsible for what is posted. So what are they to do? .... Simple, X number of complaints = close account.

It's perfectly understandable but it is used by certain groups of posters to censor the boards. Occasionally these groups are like-minded morons but sometimes I strongly suspect they're something else.

Consider who might benefit from censure and ask yourself how much they're paid to either ramp or deramp a stock. You can usually see who's who by looking at their posting history ... continual multiple daily posts on one stock? Tick. Unquestioning one-sided loyalty? Tick. Part of a multi-poster mutual tick-up society? Tick. My personal favourite ... poor spelling and grammar? Tick.

So, think of them as sad, mad or bad and decide for yourself.

The thing was, Ted was right about a lot of things and I expect he will be right about the share price on listing, it won't take much to get from 10sek to 5sek.
