That opening gap up price to 316p followed by dip below flatline to 313p just don't like it....its just going up on the coat tails of FTSE strength...& not due to its own price action...I guess rather up is good then being down.. maybe Next down could be the weakness..

......business at 300p?

Down from 550p to 314p in 12months.
Is that ridiculous 42% crash not enough for you.
Do you want blood?

Maybe with every clothing one buys they give away a free bottle of Aerial!...

This is just too weak above 310p....maybe there is an unfinished business at 300p...

I suppose you have to use Rosie Huntington-Whitely and co to create a glamourous image.
But the clothes should be targeted at the conservatively dressed over 50's.
Everyone wants to look better. We never give in.

So instead of putting super models on the advert costing super money put the average person on the advert the way they are dressed!...that is the trick...I hope Steve Rowe is reading this thread...

too much is made of style.
Those huge adverts with super models are meaningless.
Just look around and see how the average person is dressed.
To think they paid good money to buy those clothes.
if only they could see themselves.

There is big money to be made away from the youth and beauty market.
Marks should cater for this market.

well i am full in here.
We make money when the market is wrong.
The new CEO, Steve Rowe, has a long pedigree in retail.
His dad was a director for years.
He is doing a of the right things, and they must be aware of the demise of BHS.

MKS will do well in clothes if it concentrates on the age range 50 plus.
A huge market and they buy lots of cloths.
Every time I go into MKS there are lots of elderly people looking at clothes.
..grey pounds are as valuable as any other sort.

Bite the bullet and close the clothing stores , keep the food and clothing / food stores. Slash the dividend , rights issue and start again.

Just drifting into obscurity the way it's set up now.

MKS have the benefit of a successful food division.
If this CEO is unable to turn around non food, then probably no one can.

With clothing less people now willing to pay full price,

Debenhams may come to regret their store opening programme imv,
particularly with legacy lease liabilities,
