I also think you are forgetting on-line sales. They will be up a good amount this year. It has been on the news, the amount of deliveries being sent to people's workplaces. And buy on-line and collect from store, Marks and Spencer are using this, you can collect goods from any store even your local food store.

Better to sell at 30 per cent than at 50 per cent next week. The more desirable items have already been sold at full price. I have said before there is so much merchandise in all the shops, it will be impossible to sell everything at the full price.
Shopping habits have changed over the years and are still changing. Year's ago, we bought a winter coat before Christmas, because the last few, the odd sizes and unwanted styles would go in the sale, even before Christmas where the shelves had emptied of winter goods they would be being stocked with spring clothes. Today, some people have a coat for everyday of the week and then buy another in the sale to add to their collection.

in feb it will issue a profit warning and drop over 100p is a cert .

over 12 months I spend over 8k in marks now boycott the shops and so will ever one in my family and have had several e mails to say ditch marks .
I will go to marks this morning to tell the manager to stick is store and my turkey and walk out

I must say there was a very large amount of Christmas shopping going on in Marks and Spencer Bluewater yesterday.
