It is a dark day for western civilization. A Harris presidency with Biden bumbling aimlessly around on the fringes until Altzheimers overwhelms him when Pelosi will oversee his removal. China will now be free to over-run Taiwan and parts of Malaysia, Indonesia and the Phillipines. Japan and Australia will be threatened with NZ to follow.IRAN will have the bomb..???

Debsdowner , 1041 dead today + over 62322 caught covid .

Debsdowner we are so right , the numpties are asking for the virus to get them .

Unfortunately the virus is winning.

What this needs is a full uk lockdown and the shops only open should be food and chemists.

Fuel should be rationed for the odd trip to get food or medications .

Latest covid data just released and figures climbing again:

62,322 positive infections which is a new record

1.041 deaths

3,171 admissions

Unless figures start to decline soon, there could be even more restrictions from banning people from going out to exercise or work these are worrying figures.

Hospitals are now becoming overwhelmed.

Ay least robot has the bottle to speak the truth.

The news comes as M&S is thought to be in the running for some of Sir Philip Green's collapsed Arcadia Group brands, such as Topshop, Burton, Evans and Miss Selfridge. Arcadia also fell into administration in November as the coronavirus pandemic exacerbated declining footfall, rising online competition and increased business rates.Last year, the retailer also made a play to become the UK franchisee of Victoria's Secret but lost out to fashion rival Next.M&S's will publish its Christmas trading update on Friday. The company declined to comment to Yahoo Finance on Wednesday.... Yahoo Finance

Qantas and Debsdowner , good afternoon to you both, well done debs keep the latest developments up to date , if they do not like it they can wander off and do it elsewhere .

If public want the virus its shopping and mixing they need to do .

1 in 50 now infected in Great Britain .going worse day by day .

Oh and if it doesn't kill them when they catch it , they might suffer from long covid .

This can cause organ failure slowly and amputations.

Recently a hands and feet amputation took place through long covid .

So all the know it alls on here , be warned like the lottery it might be you next .

Retail will suffer severely and many will not survive .

Marks & Spencer finalising deal to acquire Jaeger

The deal would fit with M&S’s stated aim to move further. into the sale of third party brands. Last year. M&S was linked to the purchase of lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret’s UK arm but that eventually went to Next. In October last year M&S signed a deal with eco-fashion brand Nobody’s Child to sell it online.

Greggs said this morning it will not bounce back until 2022 shows how bad the Hight Street is suffering

There will be winners and losers in the eat out sector most however will falter due to extended lockdowns.

Greggs was one of the darlings of the stock market 12 months ago, how things have changed, not now.

MKS results will be awful.

But it is not about this set of results is it.

They will survive.. that is the point.. and they will occupy some of the space occupied by Debenhams.

But anyone who thinks they are going to learn anything from the next set of results is living in dreamland.
