Yes having traded good few months in the 280p - 305p range some sort of breakout up/down is about to happen on results day...I favour 330 - 335p some time this week on positive trading update than market had hoped for...better to under promise and beat expectations rather than the other way round...think by trimming the divi market might just see it as positive news... No Advice Intended...

interesting, over 11% shorted in paper reported and any good news or change in sentiment could see a complete reversal and £3.50 target easily reached. See this week.

MKS that I use is off the M25 near St.Albans neck of the wood.
It was very busy , despite 5 tills open , had to wait to pay.
I was watching what was going on , lot of people buying clothing.

Have some nice stuff , winter coats and the like.

Is the Finance business interest income from NEXT store credit cards...whereby customers buying on store credit cards and they pay back smaller amounts with interest added on...stand to be corrected if understood incorrectly....



For the third quarter ended October 27, Next reported a 2% increase in total sales driven by sales in its Online unit, up 13%, and Finance business interest income, up 12%. In the year-to-date Online is up 15% and Finance 3.1%.

"Fashion chain Next faced calls to shut more stores quickly on Wednesday as it admitted its High Street arm was dragging the business back.

"The retailer admitted that traditional sales on the High Street fell by 8% in the third-quarter to October 31, giving a shock to investors. Next shares were down 200p, or almost 4%, to 5106p despite holding its profit guidance."

Alliance News:

At the other end of the large cap index, Next was the worst performer, down 2.8% after the clothing and homewares retailer reported an increase in third-quarter full-price sales, despite struggles in its Retail sector, which encompasses its High Street shops.

For the third quarter ended October 27, Next reported a 2% increase in total sales driven by sales in its Online unit, up 13%, and Finance business interest income, up 12%. In the year-to-date Online is up 15% and Finance 3.1%.

Within the company's Retail unit however, sales dropped 8.0% in the quarter and are down 6.3% so far this year.

Peer Marks & Spencer was also down 1.8%.

Holding up pretty well for 2018 , just -15p .. when compared to the main indices, plus there's been a 12p dividend paid

Just looked at M&S Christmas food offering - excellent range. As a treat we get our Xmas joint of beef from them, which is the best I have tasted and is always excellent.
