27/7/2005 08:59 | To expect orders coming in in that timescale would be totally unrealistic, especially if the article is with reference to public transport sysytems. | lordcoco
27/7/2005 08:55 | March Networks gets a mention in an article in the morning's FT about developments in the security industry. A couple of comments from Peter Strom. Confirmation that, while the London bombings have increased awareness there has been no sudden increase in orders. | sivadnoj

22/7/2005 10:24 | Presumably no reason why this couldn't be adapted for underground trains? Wabtec and March Networks Team to Deliver Rugged Digital Video Recorder to North American Rail Industry 729 words 21 July 2005 17:00 Canada NewsWire English Copyright © 2005 Canada NewsWire Ltd. All rights reserved. WILMERDING, PA, and OTTAWA, ON, July 21, /CNW Telbec/ - Wabtec Railway Electronics, a unit of Wabtec Corporation (NYSE: WAB), and March Networks (TM) Corporation, a leading manufacturer of IP-based video surveillance systems for the transportation market, have teamed to produce VideoTrax(TM), a rugged Digital Video Recorder (DVR) created specifically for the railway industry. VideoTrax is based on March Networks' mobile DVR system which is used in operational and trial public safety applications in North America and internationally. Hardened for the locomotive environment and featuring the ability to integrate with data from Wabtec's locomotive event recorders, VideoTrax offers flexible configuration, including multiple camera and audio options and easy-to-use data analysis and playback tools tailored for the rail industry. "We feel VideoTrax will give our customers the video and audio data they need to more thoroughly investigate grade-crossing accidents, particularly when combined with the data from our on-board event recorders," said Robert Haag, vice president of programs for Wabtec Railway Electronics. "The combination of video, audio and event data is very compelling. Our relationship with March Networks allows us to provide a feature-rich DVR solution with a proven track record that further leverages the value of Wabtec's existing onboard solutions" "This new locomotive DVR and partnership with Wabtec represents a great opportunity for March Networks to address new market opportunities while leveraging our intellectual property investments," said Peter Strom, president and CEO for March Networks. "North American freight rail operators will now be able to benefit from valuable video information from on-board their locomotives. We see this as the perfect complement to our other rugged mobile DVRs that address security and safety issues in the public transportation market." The locomotive DVR incorporates a patent-pending environmental control system. To ensure applicability in international markets, the locomotive DVR was developed to locomotive systems integration standards. Additionally, the compact size and rugged features of the system allow it to be applied in other rail and transportation environments for enhanced commuter safety and security. | sivadnoj

21/7/2005 07:39 | Morning all. Well we should see a gap up this morning, Canada finished "only" just over 4% down on good volume and some very heavy buys going through after the initial drop (one at over $300 000). They're obviously not ready to capitulate yet. There does appear to be support for the price on both sides as witnessed by the bounce back yestyerday, the final drop here appearing to be an (over) reaction to Canada from the mms. Will be intersting to see what happens today, a real test of sentiment, which I believe should hold strong. lcc. | lordcoco
20/7/2005 18:33 | IndigoVision (see ADVFN IND thread) provided system for Rome Olympics, for about a dozen airports including Luton, the St Lawrence canal in Canada, and has been reporting growing sales. Its capitalisation is only a fraction of March Networks. | david77
20/7/2005 18:11 | As stated earlier, C$17 at the moment and looking strong, which equals approx £8.05, so expect a gap up tomorrow if this holds. | sranmal
20/7/2005 17:36 | No great surprise to see the fall or the size of it - momentum works both ways. Don't see support at 620, but then there's not much support established when a share rises this quickly. I still think it's best to take a part profit every so often. Incidentally this is the link to the original prospectus: | peladon
20/7/2005 17:31 | I agree lasata, managed to trade out and in fairly successfully earlier, but on the second drop went for a buy at the bottom, will see tomorrow if this was a bit rash. :-o M.T. They have talked about consolidation, I don't know if that equates to them actively or soley looking to being taken over. Seems like they are building a very successful business, who knows it may be MNW who go out with cheque book in hand? lcc. | lordcoco
20/7/2005 17:12 | That is a very honest answer from MNW. LCC: L/term this remains a gem and the t/over potential adds lustre. Just have to trade/ride the shakes! | lasata |
