03/12/2007 13:04 | That should help. Surprised still very thin and was that another buy or a sell at the same time and a fraction cheaper. Anyway good to see dir's supporting their share prices, on a daily basis across the UK mkt sales are lower than usual and buys higher than usual right now. What that really means in a market that must now see the slow down in US and UK/Europe I don't know. I follow Abacus a distributer. They are doing OK, but said the general French mkt in their sector is down 12%pa and that the last 6/12 months for the UK is one of ongoing slowing down. So I for one feel unsure about the next 12 mnths. I think I will wait a little longer. | n1blet
03/12/2007 12:40 | Another director buy: Ian Bowles, Chief Executive Officer, has today purchased through his Self-Invested Personal Pension plan 125,000 ordinary shares of 5p in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") at a price of 55.165p per share. As a result of this purchase, Mr Bowles beneficially holds 223,500 Ordinary Shares, representing 0.5% of the Company's issued share capital. | jakleeds
30/11/2007 15:15 | i AM AFRAID GOOD CO AS THEY ARE, THEY DO HAVE A TENDANCY TO SLIP AWAY WHEN THE MKT IS WEAK. oops sorry about the upper case. Hence I have come out into cash as no doubt others have. It#s a question of how long this credit crunch gloom carries on and when a recession for USA is done dusted and dried. There has been no news on their USA front, so what will happen there is difficult. With any luck for the business which I am a long time supporter of, they will get new business. But in the meantime I for one have played for safety. I would have thought that there is clear support around this level and the high 40p level, previous peak. So hopefully the downside is limited to 20%. But is definately be patient and wait for the longerterm growth to show through. That might mean holding come what may until end 2008. Whilst realising that the price does drift in a thin mkt. Dir's clearily support, but on the downside upside from recent announcements has been poor. although I am sure there will be buyers when the USA possibilities become clearer. so good luck | n1blet

07/11/2007 14:06 | Monkey here is your answer MANPOWER SOFTWARE PLC ("the Company") AWARD OF CONTRACT Manpower Software plc announces a new contract with NATO. NATO's operational military headquarters, known as Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), has contracted with London-based Manpower Software plc for an integrated software system to help manage their Special Operations Forces (SOF). NATO's Special Forces Coordination Centre (NSCC) is a new branch currently being established within SHAPE near Mons, Belgium. In the new SOF application, it will support NSCC in the planning, training and generation of Special Operational Task Groups and staff augmentation to the required levels of readiness to fulfil future operational objectives. Multinational forces such as the NATO International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan are coordinated by SHAPE, and Special Forces from 26 nations will use the Centre under the current leadership of an American two star Admiral. The NSCC will be the centre of all Special Operations Forces (SOF) doctrine, planning, training and force generation within NATO. It is designed to ensure that Special Forces from all NATO nations, large and small, use the same doctrine and methods for command and control, logistics and intelligence while conducting operations. SHAPE already use the Manpower Analysing and Planning System (MAPS, by Manpower Software plc) both to manage their 15,000 Peace-time Establishment employee records and for their Force Generation management. | the shuffle man
05/11/2007 20:40 | Thanks for that sandbag, appreciated. I admit that I don't know enough about this company, so I'm attempting to sort out the PR from the Truth. | monkeywrench
05/11/2007 19:44 | Monkeywrench, Sorry I didn't get back to you (been away for a few days). I don't know if there's a tie up to NATO and I'm totally flumoxed as to why Mr Morgan-Evans should sell all of his holding at this time. I would be more concerned if more than one director had sold but its still unsettling. | sandbag
05/11/2007 18:54 | OK, here's an easier one. Has Morgan-Evans been asked to resign yet ? | monkeywrench
31/10/2007 16:03 | Sandbag, I don't wish to rattle Robward's cage again, so ...... Do you have any idea if MNS's tie up with NATO is purely within the UK, please ? | monkeywrench
30/10/2007 15:54 | 25K at ask - probably means another rNS soon or a Director buying again. | recruiter
28/10/2007 18:18 | Hi! I suppose when comparing Manpower with Rosterpro by HMT it could appear that there is a price disadvantage but of course there's no means of comparing products from this page 18. It could be like comparing cars ( Brand new Mini £10k : Brand new Bently £12k) We know which the bargain is here! However looking at Manpower's website they are branching out into other industries and are not limited to Hospital Tusts. Regards, Sandbag | sandbag
26/10/2007 14:38 | Rob, "incredible" thanks. Now, I'll rush off and research. | monkeywrench
26/10/2007 10:03 | Hi Monkeywrench Yes, youre missing alot....the cost of the software is usually recovered many times over by the cost savings from the more efficent use of resources. I actually find your comments incredible, if you did just a little research you would find that many Trusts report savings of 1/2 million pounds per annum. Regards Rob Ward | robward
26/10/2007 09:31 | Not a good advert for the costs involved, or am I missing something ? | monkeywrench
26/10/2007 08:05 | Morning All An interesting read... Regards Rob Especially Page 18 | robward
18/10/2007 20:27 | Don't bloody believe it!!! I DID see news of a contract as I posted yesterday! How the hell did that happen??? Last night I looked through a list of companies I have under 'News'. Looking for the date 17/10, I noted each company with news on that date but as the site I use for that is very slow, I then come to this BB for the full details. I did this last night and on checking here found there was no news.....yet I'd just seen the title 'New Contract Win' on the other site. I pulled up the news list from that site again and nothing....gone! Thought I was going mad. It must have somehow been posted early and quickly removed again......never seen that before. Wish I'd bought in on the back of it! | tonystringy
18/10/2007 16:25 | they all add up :-) CR | cockneyrebel
18/10/2007 11:30 | There you go, news of another contract. These are still too cheap imo, directors were buying shedloads at higher prices not so long ago. | jakleeds
17/10/2007 20:21 | How odd! Don't look in here often. I was just going through all the news from my watchlist when I thought I'd seen a new contract RNS for today so I took a look at the reaction. Good reaction (lol) but on re checking the last RNS was 27/9.........how I read that as 17/10 I really don't know. -Looks to me like your seller's finally cleared off. | tonystringy
17/10/2007 16:40 | A good rise today, not many shares traded, any rumours of more contracts? Anybody with any theories, facts etc? | bostonborn |
