"Why would NTOG want to be investors if they don't see a future for MAGP."

The AIM listing is worth something. MAGP will likely be turned into a shell for a subsequent RTO.

MAGP was doing alright through 2014,but the drop in the oil price slowed things down.I think they have the right strategy if they can produce oil at lower prices. They say profitable at $40 recently.

Why would NTOG want to be investors if they don't see a future for MAGP.If the vote goes against them, and they still want to gain control, they would have to make an offer for it,but they don't have the cash to do that.

They could make an all share offer perhaps.

The BOD do take too much money, and should be paid less until it makes a profit.

Area44 - I'd say that sleeven is correct here, magnolia is finished. Looks like Rita has sucked the lifeblood out of the company and the last few fundraisings have done little more than prolong her gravy train. It didn't turn a profit when times were good, so why would it now?One thing that you should bear in mind, Steven Snead decided to accept a huge discount to the share price to get rid of his huge shareholding, and he knows exactly what the prospects are....I'd also say, I was a holder from the floatation but could see the writing on the wall and sold out a couple of years ago. I see no reason to buy back now with the shares about 96% lower than when I sold.Don't get too attached to a share - look at it logically.Magnolia is totally and royally screwed.

MAGP has higher revenue than NTOG,and I reckon MAGP will break even,or turn a profit in 2017.They had a much reduced loss in 2016,and lowered the debt.

NTOG is simply trying to asset strip the company, for their own reasons.

It won't work out that way, because MAGP investors are not stupid enough to believe this rubbish from NTOG and their cronies - they are working in concert.

My vote is going to Rita.

The stock price should be going up,not down.

It appears that MAGP is a family run business and RW's family appear to run it! LOL

Wrong.......They are buying the shares at 0.06p.They are issuing NTOG shares as part of the deal at 2.5p, that's nothing to do with the MAGP price.

NTOG takeover is out of the question for at least the next 12 months. As I understand it, Ntog would have to make an offer for outstanding shares at the highest price at which they purchased shares in the previous 12 months. Thus at 2.5p.
It would look like the purchase at 2.5p was a form of poison pill. Surprised?

NTOG to do a take over on us then, at what price?

Overpaying?

Glad you could make sense of the statement. There are so many arithmetical errors I cannot see what the real situation is.
Price of 2.5p does not equate to a gross figure as stated for the 'small' number of shares quoted. Similarly, 2.5p does not equate to a premium in the range stated (should be 2000%approx)

WTI down 4.8% and BRENT down 4.7%. Not good news for any oil share.
