You know you're old when the centuries start flying past. 1/4 through this one already blimey... 1914 started with a bloody european war that included the middle east... This century is not much different... Lets hope we dont get part two of this war in 2039..... |
Wishing you the same Skinny. May MNG turn out to be a star performer this year! |
Wishing you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year. |
MNG is not a big player in bulk annuities having written a handful of deals since the beginning of 2023. Nevertheless it is a sign of the competitive nature of the deals that some companies are behind sales plans and are (according to the FT) offering significant discounts to accelerate deals into 2024/early 25. PHNX indicated as one such company. |
Very reassuring article, thanks for sharing HNY |
I found that interesting. Thanks for the article |
From The Times (paywalled / archived) - "M&G boss bets £900m that offices are here to stay" |
ade, time to behave now son. |
> wllm. small brain, big pen. ocd life may be hard for you |
It's good that someone is but if I have a regret it is that I bought mng at 194.45 before this became public knowledge. when dlg deal was announce Upside being that I sold my Aviva at 490 level when deal was annonuced.
I remain cautious
Have a good Xmas all |
It's M&G buying Aviva shares. |
Have Aviva bought M&G shares in the past? They have today |
A Merry Christmas to everyone. |
You are 21hrs behind the clock, again. |
M&G sues Royal London over £86m Ascentric purchase
Asset manager looks for at least £27m in damages on back of investments in high-risk bonds. |
The litigious US habit is definitely becoming more prevalent here. |
More problems.
Suing Royal London. |
Net, If nothing else I suspect MNG will appear in many pundits shares for 2025, primarily because of a: - relatively secure dividend - seemingly sound management strategy, and, - chance of a bid approach.
(but each of those factors also applied this time last year, when I see the price was 225p, and so even after dividends paid of nearly 20p, we've still gone slightly backwards over the year) |
So entering Christmas week - to new year. These few days traditionally have LIGHT TRADING but some big swings in prices. I wonder if MNG will go up on down during this week. Anything can happen.. Touchwood its NORTH. |
Adium appears confused with all her posts here and other financials. Let's all hope they recover and start posting factually about the individual stocks. |
adejuk, your posts are boring, why don't you take your political views to a political board and keep this one for matters relating to MNG, just a thought?
wllm :) |
it's only just begun give bonespurs a chance everything he touches turns to orange when you eat too much turmeric. i imagine he has never eaten a carrot. |
According to skinny's post a few days ago. I got in this morning below the 12 month low. USA equities are still up well over 20% year-to-date, hardly a meltdown. |
james cagney 'made it ma!!' 'i'm on top of the world!!!' |
jub like you, i knew a meltdown was coming, prob in the form of a sovereign debt crisis. the usa is hyper-manic. buffet knew that and he can't time it any more than anyone so he is cautious. when he doubts, he acts. sadly i didn't and i believe things will get much worse over the next few years. a trade war. a mad president. a stupid u.s. population.. greedy children running the us banks with no thought for the effects of their pursuit of $. climate change deniers. massive and growing gobal social inequality. i could go on but i would become more boring. trump reminds me of freud, certainly not in his intellectual capacities but in his deepening old age depression. 'ww3 is closer...' he said. [of course that is a metaphor for his own death] the prob is that he has the capacity to cause it for all of us and there are now no guard rails. he has the power of king george 3rd plus presidential immunity. king george did't have that. if bonespurs is going to die soon [not soon enough] he won't mind if he takes the world with him. we live in interesting times. i would have rejected him as a patient as, i know, would have gwen adshead. |
